Nice enough hotel - comfortable, friendly staff, really great food and perfectly temperature controlled (not to be taken for granted for anyone, like me, that struggles with hotel thermostats! LOL). But I didn’t love it. ||It vaguely reminded me of 1970s architecture…but merely painted over with some lovely artwork and modern touches. You can still sort of smell the days of smoking indoors yore. The beds are low-lying, a little hard and overly flat down pillows. I would like to give props on outlets: 3 in the bathroom alone, and 6 - yes, SIX! - next to the desk, plus others around the bed. ||But what really perturbed me was the shower. Step in tub, with a swing-able glass door but only extends half way. Nice wide/rain-like hand-held shower head, but it’s so big that its weight makes it fall off. And you need to angle it a certain way so you don’t flood the bathroom - which happens because it’s at the halfway point of the tub - like, near the door’s edge! So for us shower goers, it’s just a super awkward sitch and doesn’t get your day started well.||It does have a lovely spa area but it’s not staffed, so I guess you book ahead. And the gym? One lonely cycle. That’s it. ||Last piece: location. I was obligated to stay for a meeting. But it is on the southern side of Hamburg. €75 taxi ride from the airport, €82 on my way back. That’s bonkers. And nowhere close to any tourism. So, sadly, on my first trip to Hamburg, I saw nothing and over spent my local transport budget that I didn’t even go out. It’s in a posh area, hence...

Surprisingly there are no warm foot-basins.
