A Place to Feel as Snug in a Bug in a Rug
Located on the northern outskirts of Leipzig (downtown is approx. 8 miles away) and only a few minutes away from several freeways (Autobahn) Hotel NH Leipzig Messe to us has proved to be a great place to stay on various occasions. Be it before getting on or returning from a long or tiring flight or coming to the region just for travel we found all we needed at this hotel - sublime sleep in a convenient Queen bed in a both quiet and commodious room with a soothing view over greening pastures and a small park from the upper floors. As the hotel sits at the very edge of an industrial park the big soundproofing windows also look at a well assorted shopping center nearby and the new Leipzig fairgrounds. Our room had a work desk in an ergonomic design, free WiFi internet access, a big flatscreen TV with countless stations to choose from and a cozy BarcaLounger. Amenities like a refrigerator or a water-boiler that brewed our tea at any time helped us make our stay a very pleasant one. The thoughtfully equipped bathroom comes with a tub/shower and was as prim and proper as the living area itself. Hotel guests longing for a workout will appreciate the small fitness center that has some state-of-the-art gym equipment. Another add-on is Lazy Sunday - the opportunity of a late check-out before 5 pm on Sundays. At no extra cost! At NH Leipzig Messe they offer a truly bountiful buffet breakfast including complimentary daily newspapers and we were under the impression that they do everything to cater for their guests’ individual needs if at all possible. Although NH Leipzig Messe has more than 300 guest rooms and all kinds of well-booked conference facilities we as individual travelers loved to stay here and enjoyed the personalized service their staff was obviously happy to provide. All co-workers (from the GM to Front Office staff down to room service, waiters and kitchen assistants) proved to be more than dedicated to their jobs and their joint mission - to make their guests feel like home away from home. Self-driving guests find a safe and clean gated garage at reasonable cost - or self-parking facilities in the neighborhood. LEJ International Airport is located close by. Nevertheless, we did not notice any noise annoyance from air-traffic at all! We will be happy to come back and stay there again! NH Leipzig Messe definitely deserves PHIL'S WORLD TRAVEL's...
Read moreWorst service ever met||We waited for the check in approximately 45' minutes ||Next day we requested for a taxi to the fair because it was snowing and there is no public transportation around. half an hour before our requested time they called us to say that there was no taxi available. We requested for a shuttle bus or a drive to the fair due to weather conditions, but they said there is nothing they can do, so we walked 15' in the snow.||However the worst ever behaviour we had was from the 18years old kid working in the restaurant who threatened to call the police, if we don't cone down from our room to sign the dinner paper. Situation is as follows: we went for dinner, we give our room.no for the dinner bill, we were in the restaurant for 2,5 hours (nobody during this time ever come to ask us to sign anything), when we left we went to the reception asking whether we can do the check out and pay restaurant and close our bill. Reception told us we could not do check out at that time, but tomorrow morning. Few minutes after we got a call, from the restaurant asking to come down and sign the paper, otherwise they will call the police. When I went down this 18years old boy, told me this is Germany, here we pay our bills and for those they don't they call the police!!!!||This is...
Read moreWe believe in your NH brand and stayed in both Dresden and Munich on this trip, which were excellent hotels that fully met our expectations.||Unfortunately, however, the Leipzig Messe did not.||The location of the hotel is not good, which I think is unavoidable since the hotel is for the "Messe".||However, the quality of the rooms and furnishings were so poor that it was hard to believe that this was a four-star hotel.||The most painful incident was that our room was unusually hot. The outdoors, the area where the hotel reception is located, and even the hallway in front of our room were much more comfortable than our room.||I went to the front desk and asked the front desk lady to take care of the problem. She did not even check the room and lied to me, saying that the air conditioner setting should be set to "1" (it should be set to the highest setting, 3). ||In the end, no matter how we changed the setting of the air conditioner, we could not escape from the heat and could not sleep at all.||I don't know if the design of this hotel itself is bad or if the people working in the hotel have no pride in their profession, but if this continues, I bet we will never visit this...
