Previously we have stayed here as stopovers on the way driving to Austria, but we enjoyed these visits so much that this time we came for a whole week. We stayed in the apartment - very comfortable and spacious. Huge balcony, well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, and most importantly very quiet. Absolutely loads of information about the area.|||| The stay includes the guest card which covers free transport over the whole Black Forest. We used the train several times to take super walks from neighbouring stations. The Kloster a few minutes from Hirsau station and the castle Waldeck from Bad Teinach are well worth visiting. The guest card also includes money off at the thermal Paracelsus baths. These have normal indoor swimming pools as well as deliciously warm outdoor thermal baths with current flows, massage jets etc etc.||||Although we were self catering we took the hotel breakfast everyday as it provides such a wonderful array of hot and cold delicacies. The best hotel breakfast buffet ever.||||Frau Koch is a charming, welcoming host and all the other staff are friendly and helpful. There is an honesty bar for wine, beer and the local spar water. Free newspapers. A brilliant setting - five minutes from the station - we flew to Stuttgart and took the train from there. Although in the centre of the village the hotel is surrounded by flowers, walks are straight from the door, beautiful gardens by the River Nagold minutes walk away. It was easy to have a brilliant holiday without the car this time.||||Booking direct with the hotel via email was easy. We will definitely be...
Read moreEasily found in the village centre with parking right outside. Great after a long drive from Italy. Hotel is covered in flowers and approached through the garden. Inside it's very idiosyncratic and absolutely charming. Very personally run by Frau and Herr Koch - it's lovely. We had booked a superior Komfort room but were upgraded to an apartment. Really spacious with two large balconies Well appointed and a comfortable night's sleep.||||The hotel operates an honesty system for drinks. Just help yourself from the fridge on the stairs and keep one's own tab. Breakfast is extensive and delicious, including several types of fish, and eggs and bacon. Sparkling wine as well if one is up to drinking at such an early hour.||||It's a couple of minute's walk to the Kurhaus for Tee dancing to live music in the afternoon, and live concert recitals in the morning. The Gaste Carte - free from the hotel gives free entry to the town's open air swimming pool and half price entry to the thermal baths, as well as transport. The Apotheke herbal garden is well worth a visit. It was just too hot to sample the walking in the Black Forest.||||WIFI was fast...
Read moreWe have stayed many times over the years at this delightful hotel made so special by the Koch family. This year we spent a few days in the Black Forest using the Hotel Koch as our base. To arrive after a long drive from Austria to be met by Frau Koch and a glass of bubbly was truly special and unexpected. Typical of those little touches that she does so well. The hotel is every thing you could want as a bed and breakfast. A traditional German hotel, modernised to a high standard, comfortable, warm, spotlessly clean, a great breakfast offer and amazing value. We will return hopefully in the not too...
