We stayed at the hotel for almost a week.||Hotel staff were very friendly. They helped us switch rooms with minimum hassle and also managed to accommodate the special requests we had for our child.||The rooms were simple but neat and clean. My wife appreciated the heating, which worked very well. I thought the bed was very comfortable.||The hotel restaurant had some tasty regional dishes that were presented very stylishly. Prices were mid-range and more or less like those of similar places in town. We were a bit disappointed that the bar closed at 10 pm already, so after that there was nowhere to unwind other than the room. Reception also closed at that time, which is something to be aware of if you arrive late.||The single most beautiful thing about the place is, of course, the location. The hotel sits almost on the lake shore among lots of green. The surroundings are naturally very quiet. Many rooms as well as the breakfast room/restaurant have views of the lake. There's a terrace and a beer garden also facing the lake. The Bodensee Therme thermal spa is literally next door (guests of the hotel receive a discount, the receptionist can give you a voucher). During summer months (only) some excursion boats also stop at a nearby pier.||During the day there was a regular bus service to the town centre - or it's a leisurely walk of about 3 km along the lake shore. It is only in the evening when the location is also a disadvantage since bus services stopped at...

Read moreWe stayed here over two nights during a wedding. The wedding itself was great, but it had nothing to do with this shoddy hotel. The breakfast was mediocre, especially for those with a restricted diet. It’s really not difficult to cater for a wide range of lifestyles nowadays. Cheap quality bacon, sausages and ham galore. Poor choice of vegetables and fruits, no alternative plant-based yoghurt and the soy milk is rationed in tiny cups. Vegans beware! I would expect a wide ranging variety for €13 per person, the price was quite frankly disgusting. How is this not factored into the room price? The room (€108 a night) was extremely disappointing.. very small, ancient decor, stained carpets and plastic curtains. Yes that’s right, they were made of hard plastic and looked like shower curtains!! We even had to pay for parking.. €10 a day.. at a hotel! The location is lovely and grounds are pretty, even the buildings themselves were nice, but the decor, value for money and catering...
