Hotel Restaurant Kolb GmbH — Hotel in Zeil am Main

We stayed three nights in September. The hotel describes its rooms as all having individual character. We stayed in room 9. If you like purple shag-pile carpet and transparent plastic chairs you will like this room. It looks out over a patch of neglected garden. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The main problem was the shower room which had clearly started life as a wardrobe. It has a sliding door which closes to leave a 4 cm gap, so gives no privacy or sound proofing. The bathroom was 70 cm wide, and the shower tray was 56 cm square. Having said that, it was very clean and everything worked. Breakfast was the usual German buffet and tables were labelled with the guests names which I thought a good idea. We chose not to eat here so I can't comment on the food. I think a little competition would be good...

Ich bin oft und gerne Gast in diesem Haus. Immer wenn ich geschäftlich in der Bamberger Region unterwegs bin übernachte ich in diesem Haus, da ich vom Preis-Leistungsverhältnis absolut überzeugt bin. Die Zimmer sind sehr gemütlich und vor allem sauber, was ja besonders wichtig ist. Das Frühstück ist guter Standard und für die gebotene Leistung sogar ausgesprochen günstig. Es gibt ein reichhaltiges Buffet und Sonderwünsche werden wann immer möglich schnell und unkompliziert realisiert. Die Damen welche abwechselnd für das Frühstück verantwortlich sind, sind absolute Goldstücke unglaublich höflich, aufmerksam und geben einem das Gefühl das man hier gern gesehen und willkommen ist. Selbst nach längerer Zeit kennen sie noch meine Vorlieben beim Frühstücksgetränk und das erstaunt mich und überrascht mich immer wieder positiv aufs Neue. Aber auch das Restaurant bereitet Speisen auf aller höchstem Niveau zu. Normalerweise muss ich in Restaurants die Suppen immer nachwürzen, doch nicht hier. Alle Suppen sind ideal abgeschmeckt und gewürzt. Die Speisekarte ist eine gelungene Mischung aus gutbürgerlicher und internationaler Küche mit saisonalen Modifikationen. Hier wird auf einem Niveau gekocht, was ich nicht erwartet hätte, bereits der traditionelle Gruss aus der Küche ist eine echt positive Überraschung für jeden neuen Gast. Ich freue mich jedes Mal sehr auf das Baguette mit selbstgemachten Olivenkaviar. Doch nicht nur der Olivenkaviar auch sämtliche Konfitüren sind selbstgemacht und unglaublich schmackhaft. Ich bin jedenfalls immer wieder gerne Gast in diesem Haus. Hier fühle ich mich wohl...

The hotel offers a peaceful and clean environment with excellent service. The food in the restaurant is outstanding, complemented by a great selection of wines and beers. The double rooms are appropriately sized and equipped with everything you might need, and most importantly, everything is very clean.
