Grand View Hotel — Hotel in Accra

On the plus side, the sheets are changed daily and the staff are friendly. ||On the down side, there has been a near 100% price hike from Jan 14 to Jan 15 that appears greedy. Wifi is promised but rarely, if ever works, The laundry is ridiculously expensive, Many rooms have fridges that are noisy or dont work. Business rooms cost a lot more because they supposedly have armchairs, better beds, ironing boards, and kettles - which they frequently dont have anyway! Aircon units are often smelly and noisy or dont work. Toilets often do not flush. There is a very loud church on the fifth floor. The food is fair. The restaurant and the bar on the top floor can both be unbearably loud. I have stayed at GVH on 8 occasions over the last 3 years. A lot of time can easily be spent trying to get things put right with the reception. Staff change frequently and many are incompetently helpful. There is no visible management. I would advise any visitor against walking around the neighborhood of UTC...

This hotel has the worst cleanliness and service i have ever seen. They leave food in the corridors continually, nobody wants clean up. The breakfast war just riddled with insects i swear. Forget about having a decent sleep there cause the is a church located nearby and the preacher screams his sermons at everybody from megaphone from 5pm till 3 am and then again from 5am till about breakfast time. Also my room was just under the concert hall/disco room located on top floor and anybody willing to pay money will/can stay up there and party all night long with their guests and not care about the people staying at the hotel and the management just don't care. Also almost every morning there were people walking above and preparing the concert hall for the next party and nailing stuff and moving chairs so it was a complete nightmare. All i can say if i could give a negative score i would gladly do that. Lets hope...

The first room the hotel employee gave us smelt pee and we found a condom on the floor. We asked for another room. The second room was dilapidated but didn’t smell pee.||There was so much noise on the road next the hotel that it’s was not possible to sleep even with ear plugs.||The Wifi didn’t work, there was no hot water and even the adapter they lend us didn’t work.||We had one more surprise at breakfast. The breakfast was included in our room option but when we went to the restaurant they offered a breakfast (a piece of bread and a cup of coffee) to my boyfriend only. When we asked why, the receptionist told me that if I wanted to eat there, I must pay an extra. Tourists must run away...
