I spent a week at Pekan Hotel while trying to find an appartment in East Legon.||I am sorry to say that the pictures provided by the hotel are untrue. The rooms are really old, not cleaned and stained.||||The AC worked fine in my room but that was about it. The ustensiles in the kitchen were not enough and I had to buy several of them. The living room carpet had a hudge stain and the paint all over was well overdue.||||I wanted to stay 10 days but the manager did not accept any reduction. Each day costed me $ US 50 which is a lot in Ghana. This is not even a correct 2 stars hotel and certainly the worst place I have stayed in.||||The breakfastr was included with the room but was always the same: eggs with beans. After 2 days, I asked them not to bring me breakfats anymore. ||||They also had a private party for a wedding without warning their clients and I had to listen to super loud music from morning till late at night.||||The bathroom was a shame: no hot water, no shower curtain, no shampoo, no nothing. When I took my showers, the toilet was boiling and making so much noise that I wondered if I was showering with the toilet's water...The toilet broke down after one day and was licking. |||| The carpet and the ceiling were filthy and the carpet ripped. ||||This hotel has an outdoor pool but I did not dare swim in it.||||I do not recommand this place at all. It is miserable and should be closed...
Read moreThis is a nice, clean, well-run hostel. There are a few minor signs of a bit of age but nothing serious. It feels more like a good hostel in a rural area, rather than a hotel in Accra.
Part of the reason is because it is rather out of the way: it's on a dirt road, and there is no grocery store nearby, and only a few restaurants within walking distance. I sometimes had a hard time getting a Bolt ride from here. I walked a block to the nearest paved road to improve my chances.
If you are looking to just relax and enjoy the scenery, it could be just right for you, but if you are looking to see famous sites in Accra, you are in the wrong part of the city for that. Not conveniently located for the airport either. It's also not close to the University of Ghana, though it looks like it might be on the map.
Options for dorm or single room, options for individual bathroom or shared bathroom. Hot water was very hot (individual water heater next to the shower). 2 electrical outlets used for the fridge and TV, so if you want to charge a device, you have to unplug something.
Breakfast every morning, included: omelette and bread, choice of tea/coffee
Wifi is ok but sometimes needs to get rebooted.
No elevator/lift.
Leave key at the desk when you are out...
Read moreI came to lodge the cleaner insulted me and my friend for dirtying the room next door to us which was not true I recorded everything on video . Pls reach out to me before posting the video online. He was very rude and insulted me in front of Harry the receptionist and he didn’t even tell the guy to stop. The cleaner even wanted to physically touch me. He was unprofessional. I stayed for 2 days prior to this incident. Doesn’t matter what you going through you never raise your voice at a customer no matter how irritated you are. But he stood to argue...
