We had an enjoyable 2 night stay in one of the apartments (the 4 bedroom with a river view). It was nice having the private balcony, shared space and kitchenette though the latter didnt have even a kettle, just a sink. We were fine with the bedrooms but some might find them a bit small at this price level. The resort is well maintained, with helpful service and a peaceful environment apart from occasional overloud music from the hotel music system (but they turned this down on request). Swimming pool was a reasonable size and kept clean . Worth asking gor a river view room. Inclusive breakfast is only a buffet when there are enough residents, but we found the standard "english" breakfast (pancake, sausage, vegetables, hard boiled egg and omelette, baked beans, toast. juice) was fine. Food was fine though service wad a bit slow (over an hour to serve order both days, but we werent in a hurry). . Some items seemed a bit pricey for the environment (fufu and goat light soup 170 cedis) but most at reasonable levels for a small hotel. It ws quiet (few residents) when we were here (between Christmas and New Year which suited ua but some might like more buzz. A personal bugbear was our rooms were AC only, without fan - I prefer just a fan. However the AC worked well There is a thoel river boat for 12 but for our smaller party it was more relaxed and economic to hire a local boatman with a smaller boat. Also note there is no gym. Overall we had a happy amd relaxing stay. Thank you to...
Read moreI stayed here for one night whilst visiting family in the Ada area.
Location on the river is amazing. The views are stunning.
Rooms are nice, but as I usually find in Ghana, the finer finishing touches are a little off. The bathroom wasn't quite up to the same standard and could use a makeover.
We ate at the hotel in the evening. I saw Lobster on the menu but knew it probably wouldn't be available. I was right. 🤦🏽 So I settled for grilled prawns and rice. It was very tasty.
The evening ambience was nice.
The next morning we had breakfast and this is where I was slightly annoyed.
After waiting at a table for around 10 minutes a waitresses eventually attended to us.
We were offered a cooked breakfast option and asked how we would like our eggs. I requested two fried over easy.
The waitresses took the order but then returned around a minute later with two clingfilm wrapped plates with vegetable omelettes. Her words, "Sorry, they've cooked it already".
I find this very common in Ghana. Establishments seem to be eager to pre cook breakfasts, wrap it in clingfilm and serve it lukewarm.
I had a few bites of this breakfast, lukewarm egg, beans, hotdog and was not impressed.
I would definitely stay here again but would reject the breakfast if it's going to be made hours...
Read moreFor some peace and quiet PHR complements it's name. It's a good resort to visit as an individual, with friends and/or family 👪. It consists of a beautiful pool area, relaxation deck, and some space for the kids to play and run around. Fun stuff like the fairy boat 🛥 and skii boats are also available. The staffs are welcoming, the rooms are nice adorned with comfy beds. Their boat rides are negotiable at reasonable prices too with life guards like Godwin and Enoch who were kind enough to take us to the zoo island were we saw the crocodiles, you're allowed to buy chickens and feed them, the rabbits and the baby crocs you can pet not to talk of the pythons they killed a few months back with the skins hanging on a line. Learnt they get visits from the snakes 🐍a few times ☺. The coconut 🥥 island was cool too, had some fresh coconuts quite different in taste from the few I've had even though I'm not a coconut person. Couldn't visit the estuary but hope to do so on our next visit to Ada. Now to the not so good, the food 🍲 wasn't so good and there wasn't much variety. Aside that our...
