I stayed in this hotel in March 2018. It is quite a new hotel, built for the Africa Cup of Nations apparently. It didn't look too bad at first, the rooms were relatively clean and the staff were welcoming and helpful. However it didn't take long to realize that this is a completely dysfunctional hotel. We were here as part of a conference/workshop, so not possible to leave. ||The electricity went out regularly, and for long periods of time. Although they have what looks like a newish and big generator, they were not able to get this to work, much of the time. There was one night where it was impossible to sleep, being about 38 degrees with no aircon or fan.||The water went off in the rooms regularly. This was most bizarre, because as soon as I would mention it to staff - many times - , they would say that they will go and turn it on again - and they did, and it worked. Why was it being turned off all the time???||One evening my colleague and I decided to eat in at the restaurant. We asked for the menu. No menu. What do you have? Chicken and rice or guinea fowl and rice. It wasn't actually too bad, but really? No menu and no choice in a restaurant of a large hotel. ||Then I asked for a beer. " Sorry we don't have beer, there is no demand for it". Really, in a hotel??||Then there was my room key. It was one of those magnetic cards. It took me about 20 - 30 swipes to get in my room every time.||Oh yes ,,, and there's a swimming pool that does not have any water. And the TVs in the rooms don't work.||The only saving grace of this hotel is the front desk staff. I felt really sorry for them. The manager was not around the whole week we were there, so the staff had no support at all with the various problems. The staff really did try and help us out and remained polite even though they were getting quite a bit of pressure from various guests.||Worse thing was I was here for...
Read moreI stayed in Ganaa hotel with my family from 6th to 9th August 2019. The location of the hotel is perfect. Not too close to town center hence it is quite and serene. Neither is it far from the town center. The staff were excellent, very polite, professional and willing to go out of their way to make make us happy. We rented a two bedroom apartment that was very spacious and clean as well. My family really loved Ganaa. We will always stay at Ganaa anytime we are in Tamale.||||We nearly did not go to Ganaa because of reviews I read online but after talking to the staff, they convinced me to come and if I don't like the experience, the will refund my money. ||||Through my little inquiries while at the hotel, I got to know that, it is now under new management hence lot of things have changed for the better.||||It would have been a big mistake if I did not go there with the family||||Keep up with...
Read moreThe stair runners were torn and worn. You have to take the stairs because the elevator doesn't work. The first room we were shown had to be opened by the 2 staff by shoving the door. The toilet had no seat. We were then shown to another room which was very large but had all the charm of a warehouse. We went down to registration, (I tripped on the torn runner), to ask for our money back (we had to pay in cash when we checked in) as we intended to move to another hotel. They said they couldn't give us a refund because "the money was gone". Intending to get a beer and snacks, we went to the restaurant where we waited 30 minutes to get our order. There were only 2 others in the restaurant and they were with us. Breakfast service the next day was the same. I see the management response dated 2016 says all the criticism has been addressed....
