Gidi Lodge — Hotel in Northern Region

Terrible experience! NoRECOMMENDATION

We were forced to leave this hotel because they overbooked. We had a confirmation from booking.com. they told us they have never received it even if it was confirmed and they asked us when we would arrive. It took them 4 HOURS to find no solution. We were exhausted tired and then they did not organize another place to stay. They also made us pay for our transport to this place. The staff was trying to charge us more than they had on their own pricelist. Then they tried to tell us that the standard room was not available. Later, we got checked into a dirty, small room that was not possible to lock. There were no towels. The AC was NOT working and the hot water was NOT working. There was only space for one person. The whole hotel and also this room was smelling like fresh paint. The breakfast for early checkout was not available.

I'm sorry I can NOT recommend this...

Have you heard the expression “ A diamond 💎 in the rough” ?

Gidi lodge is it . We randomly chose it at midnight, after a 20 hour long bus ride and walked into the best lodging we’ve been to yet ..

It is an absolute gem ! Do not pass it by ..

This is our second time staying here while in Tamale , and would recommend it to EVERYONE!

The staff are 💯 / the rate is fantastic/ CLEAN and I mean attention detailed Clean rooms / toilets / showers / the shower pressure / temperature incredible/ AC and Fan / and actual cold beer..💎

Most important : Staff are kind/ informative/...

Good value for money. Really clean. Small rooms with fridge and tea station. AC. Security cameras and 24h reception. Markets, grand mosque and cultural center around the corner. Ideal if you want to catch an early bus from the center the next day. Opposite is the Gidi Crest restaurant with rooftop bar and loud music in the evenings. The hotel is in the centre and therefore very noisy, would recommend to...
