A friend and I spent a week at Hotel Geduld while volunteering in Hohoe. The staff and accommodations were great. We were greeted upon arrival by the Madam to a clean large room that had a very large bed, television, private bathroom, and AC. The staff was so amazing and friendly and always available if we needed anything. The food was great and always prepared when we ordered or at breakfast time when scheduled the night before. The location is great and about a 10 minute walk to the city center. We spent some time walking around the neighborhood meeting the children and families that were very friendly. We only had two blackouts while we were visiting but that didn't affect our stay and didn't slow the staff or day down. We chose room 10 which had a balcony and private bathroom. The room was very large with a small fridge that allowed us to keep fruit and water cold. The bathroom was large with a bathroom and shower that allowed us to shower daily. Will definitely stay on our next visit to Hohoe. We would turn the AC off while we were not in the room to save energy but the room would cool very quickly upon...
Read moreFor travelers looking to experience their hometown service, you are looking in the wrong place. I would however encourage you to stay at Geduld to experience the authentic Ghana which has delicious food, smiling people who work hard and grin with pride when you take the time to learn their language, wave hello and simply soak in the sights and sounds around you. It is a place cared for with pride by a strong woman who owns the hotel and cooks some incredible friend chicken. ||||The staff are highly knowledgeable about the area and whether you are staying here for business, pleasure or both, they make sure your stay is what you wished...all you have...
Read moreDuring our trip to Hohoe in April, we decided to stay at the Geduld Hotel for one night before we were to visit the waterfalls in the volta the next day. When we arrived at the hotel in the evening, they were experiencing one of Ghana's infamous power outages however they surprisingly did not have a generator - which is commonplace for a hotel to have in Ghana. ||||This meant that we could not eat anything at the hotel, so we decided to walk into the town and find somewhere. On our way back directly outside the hotel, we were approached by two locals with knifes who took our phones, money and credit cards. It was a frightening experience and there was no security or light at the hotel gate. Whilst the rooms that we had were value for money and the breakfast was decent, the hotels location is inconvenient and the road accessing...
