What a lovely, tranquil place surrounded by beautiful green gardens, trees, exotic flowers and birds! Green Zion Gardens is a relaxing and welcoming spot to come and find peace and quiet and to enjoy the sights and sounds of the nature around. The place is only a few hundred meters from Butre beach which is easily accessible through the path, so you can conveniently have the best of both worlds and enjoy the beach life as well as the quiet, cool shade of the gardens.||||The friendly host, Ellis, has done a wonderful job setting up the place by himself. He has a great passion for this place and a lot of improvements and decoration work have recently been done to create this colorful oasis. The rooms are very clean, cosy and functional and they come dressed in beautiful Ghanaian fabrics.||||The vegetarian food is delicious with a good choice of Western, Indian inspired and traditional Ghanaian dishes on the menu - we especially loved the veggie coconut curry! Just make sure to allow a little time for your order, as everything is cooked fresh from scratch by Ellis himself. There are also lovely fresh coconuts (picked straight from the tree!) and fresh fruit and fruit juices available.||||We really wish we could have spent more time in this little paradise. We made a good friend in Ellis and will hopefully return...
Read moreGreen Zion Garden is an actual paradise. The various little/large rooms are like natural hobbit houses. No Aircon but sure a fan is grand. There's a tree house, too. The garden is immaculate, green indeed. Beautiful flowers, plants and trees. There are birds, dragonflies, a friendly goat, a couple of friendly dogs. It's right by the beach where Ellis has a beautifully decorated wooden bar. He'll feed you delicious veggie food and serve you tasty drinks. He's got the best smile. 💗There are seats & shaded beds by the ocean. The beach is so clean- no rubbish. The cleanest I've seen in Ghana. I should have stayed for longer. I'll go back one day... The village of Butre itself is across a rickety Indiana Jones style bridge and is a bustling lively fishy place. The children all ran at me for fistbumps & hi fives. Goats & chickens & dogs everywhere. We got a motorbike to Asa Baako Festival in Busua but walked back, the full moon illuminating our way across the beach, then our headtorches helping for the path through the bush over the hilly headland, with birds frogs & insects providing the soundtrack. A very magical special place, which seems to be growing even better with each new build &...
Read moreEllis's Green Zion Ecolodge is a true paradise! Coming from Accra this was exactly what I needed - a quiet and relaxed atmosphere in a beautiful location surrounded by good people. We originally booked to stay at the Hideout during the Asa Baako Festival but they overbooked and referred us to Green Zion - the best thing that could have happened to us! Ellis and Irene were incredibly hospitable and welcoming - they even accompanied us to the Festival. The food was fresh and delicious - as was the coffee! We stayed in the double room which was simple but clean and had everything we needed. I truely enjoyed my time at Green Zion and can now call Ellis and Irene my friends! The only reason I cannot give it 5 stars now is that it is currently a work in progress. Ellis has big plans for this beautiful place and is hard at work in bringing his dreams into fruition. Please come and support his project - you...
