Hillcrest Hotel — Hotel in Western Region

I've been in Hillcrest for about a month. At the beginning was a little disaster... No internet, no food, no TV. Soon realized that was a kind average in Takoradi, due to the weak connection etc. The breakfast was delivered every day on every room, one by one. You can immagine that it was taking too long and at the end, was to late to eat and many people had to go to work without having food. After a couple of weeks, and after suggesting some change to the apartment responsible lady, the manager made some change, opening a little breakfast place on the pool side, so everyone could come in the morning and have food, as in every other hotel. This was an amazing change. The rooms are big enough, double or single apartment. Internet is as the average in Takoradi, is a hope sometimes... But I suggest to go to the pool side, at the bar and use internet there, because is faster. The place around is amazing if you love Africa. No words...

Stayed at Hillcrest for one night and I was impressed with the spacious, modern, room with many of the amenities you would expect. Freshly renovated, it was gleaming clean. The air-condition blew ice cold and the TV comes with international channels also. I stayed on the third floor and at one time in the shower, I had pressure issues with the water. On going renovation means you have to deal with noise occasionally in the day. The hotel is nice to alert you about this on arrival, but not the unpredictable noisy neighborhood church service that is a constant feature of the Ghanaian soundscape. ||At breakfast, there was not much to choose from and quite frankly, for USD 150/night, breakfast was disappointing and the service in the restaurant wasn't great. I stayed at the apartments of Hillcrest; the hotel complex is not far away. ||The apartments were very nice and had 3 bedrooms each with their own bathroom which was a real treat. There was a common living room, kitchen, guest half-bath and even a washing machine. All the windows had screens so they could be left opened at night to cool the rooms although there were air-conditioners if wanted. ||The apartment complex had a pool and bar area. The food was tasty but took a very long time so patience was important. There were lots of pizzas leaving the kitchen for delivery or pick-up so it was a popular item. ||All in all it was a...
