We recently stayed here and, while the property has a lot of potential, the overall experience left us disappointed. The design of the space is beautiful, the setting is lovely, and the pool is well maintained. The host was friendly and did offer things when asked, like omelets at breakfast and replacement towels, and even allowed a late check-out, which we appreciated.||That said, the way these basic things were handled throughout the stay made the experience feel far from luxury — and more like flying Ryanair: everything seemed to come with an extra charge.||We had a particularly uncomfortable exchange with the host when we asked for fresh towels. I tried to explain that it felt strange to have to justify the need for something so basic. He responded that this wasn’t a five-star hotel, and “not even in five-star hotels” are towels changed freely — which, in our experience, simply isn’t true. We’ve stayed in many boutique properties across Europe, and clean towels have always been offered without hesitation. Eventually, he said they could provide them at no cost, even though they usually came with a fee. But having to go through that conversation at all just made us feel unwelcome. When I brought up that this wasn’t what we expected from a place marketed as a “luxury experience,” his response was that “luxury is debatable.” It sure is — but this property definitely isn’t it.||Breakfast was another weak point. The options were very limited, and basic items like omelets weren’t included unless requested. While they were kindly provided after we asked, it once again felt like something that should’ve been part of the offering to begin with.||On top of that, the room showed signs of poor maintenance: minor stains on the walls, holes in the bathroom door from a missing handle, and minimal amenities (just a small amount of soap and shampoo). They didn’t even replenish toilet paper when we were down to the last roll. These small details added up quickly and contributed to an overall feeling of neglect.||What was most frustrating was that almost everything had to be asked for — and came with some kind of reminder that it wasn’t really included. That gets tiring. You don’t go on vacation to constantly bargain for basic comforts.||The property might look high-end in the photos, and it certainly has the structure to be something great, but the reality doesn’t match the marketing. For the price and the current rating, we expected a lot more. With some care, this place could really shine — but for now, it’s not delivering the experience...
Read moreIf you don't like crowds and want to experience some Greek getaway with amazing view, this place can be for you. Very modern rooms - 5 on the ground floor without private pool and not that spacious. 2 on the higher level with amazing infinity pools but of course for those you need to pay extra. Definitely you will need a car - no beach and no restaurant in the walking distance, but driving through the island is actually one of the nicest driving experiences of my life :)
Breakfast: stingy and limited and served to each room which means that you can and must enjoy your breakfast on the balcony. Cool at the beginning, last mornings felt little bit like a morning drill - knock on the door. Hello, hello tray, have a nice day, goodbye. Withing this price range I would expect something better. Here you may have coffee, pasteurized orange juice, some basic cold cuts and bread, granola and honey. Omelets and fresh juice are paid extra (8-12 EUR for an omelet :)).
Rooms and the service: open plan rooms are very nice but shower makes a lot of drizzle and some part of the room gets damp. TV is not something what is must have on your summer holidays but in the bigger rooms upstairs they are too small and after 5 min watching from the bed you'd rather say - screw it and turn it off.
Room service: not amazing but is there. They clean regularly but rarely replenish especially toilet paper :) Also one thing which I really missed are those door hangers with do not disturb or something.
Place worth recommending, especially rooms with private pools was an...
Read moreWe don’t really know where to start in praise of this amazing small boutique hotel! And in a way, that says it all! ||We needed a complete break-an escape; & this we definitely had in the total peace and tranquillity of the Escape Suites. We booked the Premier Suite which was wonderful in every respect. There was plenty of space, a super comfy bed, and beautifully designed in a simple but very effective way. The room had a large balcony with loungers, chairs/tables and had its own pool which was perfect. The view as you opened the curtains each morning or lazed on the loungers was amazing-over the sea to the island of Zakynthos. ||Breakfast was brought to our room each morning by the cheerful Tonia. It was always plentiful, delicious and full of tasty local produce, prepared by lovely Dimitra who was always happy, helpful and just wanted to ensure our stay was as perfect as we needed it to be. It was a pleasure to meet and chat with the owner Kostas who was extremely welcoming and helpful. He has created a little gem in the Kefalonian Escape Suites and should be so proud of all that he and his team are achieving. ||Thank you for giving us a...
