Its proximity to the creek meant we could easily dip in and out of the vibrant local scene, with crystal-clear waters and plenty of spots for the kids to explore. The house was spacious, clean, and well-equipped, providing a comfortable base for our week-long adventure. Whether we were lounging together or giving the teens their own space, it worked beautifully. What truly set this stay apart was the exceptional hospitality. Our host, George, was an absolute star. From the warmest of welcomes to his endless recommendations, he went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience. Nothing was too much trouble – whether it was arranging transport, suggesting hidden beaches, or sharing insider tips on the island’s best spots. His local knowledge helped us discover Kefalonia’s magic, from secluded coves to buzzing tavernas. Speaking of tavernas, the Sunset Taverna just down the road was a highlight. Our first evening there was pure bliss – incredible food, warm vibes, and a breathtaking sunset that set the tone for the trip. It quickly became our go-to spot, and the staff treated us like family. The cherry on top was meeting the owner on our final day. Hearing his personal story and the passion behind Maria’s Happy Place added such a special layer to our stay. Had a fabulous and welcoming stay at Marie’s Happy place. The villas are new so everything is fresh and clean and they are decorated tastefully and beautifully. We particularly loved the vast outdoors area with several seating options (shade or sun-seeker), the pool options and a stunning largely- uninterrupted view to the sea. Georgios, who meets you at the properties and is available for any queries, is super helpful and responds within minutes. Stayed at many villas all over Greece and Wurope and this was the best by far. All new, luxury decorated with ample outdoor seating areas and enough umbrellas and pool lounges for 8 people. gorgeous big pool cleaned meticulously every day. We were 3 couples with huge amount of space .
