Ilioxenia is very nice accomodation (take the renewed rooms only!) but the owners were not nice to us at all. I do not know, if they had to deal with some problem (but on the other hand it is not my business), but they were very "cold". I have never encountered anything like this in Greece. The lady tried to cheat us very first day with the air condition. She wanted a special fee, althrough this was already included in the price of accomodation at the moment of our booking. We had to solve it via our agency - then she came to our room at 22:00 and brought our money back without any apology. Then we could not even stop our car in front of hotel (signs NO PARKING are everywhere), even if we had 3 very heavy packages of water. The man was very rude also to the gentleman from the rental agency, who picked the car. On the other hand, the tourist from US could park their car at the same place. Their son was relay nice as well as lady in the restaurant Horizont.|We were very disappointed - I definitely would not go there again. There are plenty of hotels in Chios, where you can spend your money more...
Read moreAgia Fotini is a very small beach town about 20 minutes from Chios town but the roads are very narrow. This hotel is excellent in every way, with spacious and very clean rooms, cleaned and towels changed every day. The rooms have a kitchenette, tv, A/C, sufficient cupboards and a modern bathroom. We had a beautiful balcony overlooking the street and the sea. There is free WiFi but the Internet on the island is generally not very good. The breakfast of the hotel is served in the hotel next door and is fantastic. There are fresh cakes and pies every day in addition to cheese, ham, home made jams and fruits. The spinach pie is to die for. |The beach is almost next to the hotel but the beach is pebbly, so bring special shoes if you can’t step on large pebbles. |The owner is very friendly and helpful, she has a sense of humor and makes you laugh a lot. Parking can be a problem but there are some Municipality car...
Read moreWe liked our stay at the hotel Ilioxenia. The hotel has a great taverna serving delicious food and it is near the beach, right in the centre of the village, next to a small market and other restaurants/bars. Our apartment was on the ground floor at the back of the hotel building, so no views but it was perfectly fine, functionally equipped and comfortable. It wasn't too hot so we managed without an A/C if we opened the windows. The only issue was no hot water in the bathroom, which we reported to the owners. We liked the hotel breakfasts, taken in the outdoors seating, especially the delicious pies. Dinners in the taverna were tasty too and the hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. In the evenings it wasn't the quitest of places but this is understandable, given its central location. Overall we had a relaxing holiday and really...
