Monolia Maisonettes — Hotel in Chios Municipality

On our first visit to Chios in 2024 we spent 11 days at Monolia Maisonettes. It felt like home in so many ways! First, the host, Virginia, welcomed and introduced us to the accommodation in a very warm & polite style. We could ask anything regarding the island, her advices were really helpful (restaurants, beaches, museums etc.). She was practically like a local friend at your holiday destination, we very much appreciated her positive & caring attitude. The maisonette itself was very clean, light-infused and very stylish. The grand windows, the luxurious minimalist bathroom with the amazing shampoo & shower gel containing the island’s most valuable product, mastiha, was very special. The thoughtfully arranged interior design and the view of the sea and the island were incredible. The kitchen has everything you need and was in perfect condition as the maisonette itself is new. The air-condition had a very pleasant degree set and was built in ( no direct airwaves). There are lots of small beaches and family run restaurants around and the location of Monolia Maisonettes is both relatively close to the center (around 15-20 mins) and the most famous villages and beaches are easy to reach within approximately half an hour. We are soooooo happy and grateful to have stayed in one of Virginia's beautiful, extremely clean, very well-appointed maisonettes. She has clearly spent much thought to the overall experience of a vacation rental and has paid great attention to detail in designing the layout and interior, which pays off in a very calming, soothing, aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. Our maisonette (along with all others) have their own views of the sea, and for us the location was an excellent balance between close-enough-to and far-enough-away-from everything. While there are countless wonderful places to eat on Chios, we also took full advantage of the kitchen. Virginia's cleaning staff did not miss a single corner or high beam ~ cleanliness is of utmost importance for us and expectations were far exceeded. Monolia Maisonettes, paradise in the heart of Chios! If you are planning a visit Chios, THIS IS THE PLACE to stay. We travel often and I always look for flats/apartments because of what they offer when compared to a hotel. I know what is on the top of our list and this place had it all. First, a kitchen so we can do our coffee thing in the morning, wine at night. Next, we want some kind of outside space and preferably one with a view, the pictures you see on the website are exactly as it is. This a balcony is huge and you can spent many hours on it just relaxing. Trust me, you never get tired of that view . And third, location, location, right?
