The hotel has a great location, with nice and spacious rooms.
We had a superior room with sea view, in the main building, and it didn't disappoint. We've heard from other guests that the bungalows are terrible and that's mostly where the low ratings come from. The only bad thing about our room was the bathroom, because the shower leaked heavily and we would have to use our towels to clean the floor and the toilet would take 2-3 flushes for the toilet paper to dissappear. The beach bathroom was not that clean, and we would have to ask the reception to put soap, or the soap dispenser would stay empty for days.
The parking was a real issue. We arrived on a Friday afternoon and the parking was full so we had to park on a nearby street. Only on Saturday afternoon we managed to find a spot in the main parking lot where the car would be safe. During weekdays there was no problem, so keep that in mind when you book your vacation.
I have a bone to pick with the management regarding the animation team and activities. Almost all of the entertainment is addressed to the French guests, during our 10 nights stay I think we could attend only 2 or 3 activities in the evening, as they did not require knowledge of the French language. While I could live without those activities, it was really annoying when during dinner we couldn't understand each other due to the loud screaming in French. Because all of the activities took place at the main bar, you could not have access to the seats there, so you could either go near the pool (pretty far for a refill) or stay at the restaurant, but the staff would kick you out at some point. Regarding the subject, I think it was extremely disrespectful when there was a football game between France and Greece and the screen was put facing the French guests, with French comments, even though the hotel was packed with Greek guests.
These are all inconveniences that could be improved with minimal effort, it's a shame if things stay the same, because there is a ton of potential in this place.
The beach is sandy and clean, the water clear and good for swimming. Pool is clean, with great temperature on hot days, big enough for a good swim. Both are a few steps (or stairs) away, separated from the hotel by some greenery and olive trees.
Food - the best I had with an all inclusive package, even though I am a picky eater. It was varied and tasty, especially the desserts. Please remove the sandwiches served as snacks, though, they are an insult to the great family of sandwiches. The staff at the restaurant was very kind and polite.
Drinks - the same as everywhere else with all inclusive, but I really enjoyed the non-alcoholic cocktails as I don't drink. The bar would get too crowded sometimes, especially if someone would have to pay for a drink. Not all the staff at the bars speak English well.
The staff was really nice, the greeks were keeping up with the well-known Greek kindness. Since I have trashed a little the animation part, I would like to give a shout-out to Despina the fitness instructor that was truly amazing and such a sweet human being. She was the only one that invited all guests to her classes and even to the activities that could be done without understanding French. I don't know how much she is being paid but she deserves a raise anyway. Also, the lady at the reception with a straight bob haircut and grey hair (sorry for not remembering the name) was always smiling and attentive.
The older man at the water sports was nice at first, but by the end he straight up asked me if instead of money I could pay him "with something else", so maybe avoid that one, I do not know if he is an employee of the hotel in some sort or if the business is all his.
To wrap up this long review, apart all the small inconveniences, I would recommend to try this hotel. In the end I had one of my best vacations here, and there is nothing so bad that would make me not...
Read moreThe beach was ok, the food was mediocre, the room was a disaster! I opted (...and I made a big mistake) for a room in a bungalow with a view of the garden...and I ended up in the last row of bungalows located next to the road and the traffic noise exceeded any acceptable limit. The distance from the restaurant and the beach was approximately 250-300m. This last row of bungalows was the most unkempt on the outside, unwashed windows, the balcony was dirty, I found an ashtray full of cigarette butts on the balcony, etc. The room was large in size, in which they put a king-size cot but for dwarfs, the maximum size was 1.8 meters long and 1.6 m wide, probably the one who ordered it was a dwarf and didn't think that there were normal people taller than 1.2m. The bathroom was small, with a specific smell of sewage, a smell that persisted throughout the stay in terms of intensity and flavor. The towels were changed daily and the bed linen every 3 days. TV in the room the size of a tablet. Although we tried to change the room, we were met with a categorical refusal by the receptionist, a refusal based on the explanation that the hotel was "fully booked", a complete lie by the way, the hotel and the first two rows of bungalows being over 70-75% empty. I noticed that in this row of bungalows, the third, exclusively citizens from Eastern countries were accommodated such as: Romanians, Bulgarians, Serbians, North Macedonians, etc. and in the first two rows were accommodated French (priority), Finns, etc. The restaurant: in the first 4-5 days it was relatively empty (which proves that the hotel was empty) getting crowded in the last days of the stay. Clean, food ok, with a minimum number of employees who could not really cope with the flow of tourists on the days when it was crowded. Repetitive food, the same side dishes, about the same desserts, fruit and ice cream in the open. The beach was with fine sand, smooth entry into the sea and protected from waves by 2 side piers. As beautiful as it was, it was also dirty, full of cigarette butts, empty glasses, dirty and broken sunbeds. The pool relatively ok. Better maintained than the beach There were 3 bars, one on the beach, one by the pool and one inside the hotel. The ones outside opened at 10 and closed at 18. The one inside closed later but after 23 you had to pay for drinks. The hotel has a covered parking lot with a net and a few places in the yard. I do...
