Atheras — Hotel in Icaria Municipality

I don't like writing negative comments, but it makes scence we share our experiences so other can avoid bad experiences. The owner was very friendly when I talked to him about our late arrival and left us the key at the reception and gave us a few numbers of Taxi drivers so I could arrange our Transfer from the Port. The Hotel is old and run down. We couldn't use the frigde as it made a very loud noice. Also when you flushed the toilet the water tank made loud noices until it filled up again, I guess it was because of air in the pipes, I could hear the same noice from the other rooms too. The water was yellow to brown in sink and toilet. The worst thing was that it was not clean, the first thing I found was few long hair in the bed, which I removed, in the morning when the lighting was better I could see the rest of little Black hair all over my side of the bed and on my daughters side it looked like somebody emptied a shaver on the bed linen. The doors, the light switches and the old cord phone looked like they were not cleaned for decades. We had booked for 2 nights, but left after 1 night, luckily a friend of mine were on the island and we stayed at their place. Lastly the owner would not even come the few steps from his room to get paid. Sad as it was a good price and near to the hot...

I was there for 3 weeks (on a Greek language course based in Ikaria) and found the room comfortable, clean and functional. Plenty of good hot/cold water, the fridge was useful, and a table plus a small dressing table made it easy to keep a kettle and drinks sensibly. The balcony was warm and the canvas cover protected it from too much heat. Good metal shutters kept the strong morning sunshine out and double glazing keeps occasional noise out (local motorbikes use the small road and can be very noisy). Good aircon. ||The pool is not large but lovely - clean and warm, and the pool area is usually fairly quiet - a good alternative to the functional stony local beach. The bar is not widely used so not a lot of cocktails etc available (nearby restaurants on the lovely port area take the business). ||Breakfast is the only disappointment - no fresh fruit, watery juice, and OK-just coffee. Possibly worth breakfasting out. Lovely yoghurt and honey though!||This is good value for the area (where there are limited hotels) although the third floor is the best as it has some view and is less on...

Αποφάσισα να γράψω την προσωπική μας εμπειρία για το συγκεκριμένο κατάλυμα γιατί ήταν τόσο απαράδεκτος ο τρόπος της, η απάθεια που έδειχνε, και καθόλου διάθεση στο να εξυπηρέτησει όπως αρμόζει η ανάλογη θέση υποδοχής & κρατήσεων ( κατά γνώμη μου πάντα που δεν μ άφησε περιθώρια). ||||Για να τα πάρουμε από την αρχή, βλέπουμε το συγκεκριμένο κατάλυμα μέσω booking, μας αρέσει κ αποφασίζουμε να έρθω σε επικοινωνία μαζί τους για να γίνει η κράτηση, (που για καλή μας τύχη δεν είχε διαθεσιμότητα για τς 4 νύχτες αλλά μόνο για 2,) προχωράμε λοιπόν στην κράτηση μέσω τηλεφώνου, αλλά διαπιστώνουμε ότι μας συμφέρει καλύτερα να το κλείσω μέσω πλατφόρμας 77€ ανά διανυκτέρευση κ όχι μέσω τηλεφώνου που ήταν στα 86€. ||Προχωράμε λοιπόν στην κράτηση μέσω πλατφόρμας, λαμβάνουμε αριθμό επιβεβαίωσης, κ το συνολικό ποσό που χρεώθηκε η κάρτα μας, κ ερχόμαστε σε γραπτή επικοινωνία με την κυρία που κάναμε την τηλ.. κράτηση να την ενημερώσουμε να ακύρωση την κράτηση μέσω τηλεφώνου γιατί το κλείσαμε από το site... ||Μας απαντάει ότι δεν έχετε κάποια κράτηση, μιλήστε με το site που κάνατε την κράτηση, καλή σας μέρα (άσχετα αν τς έστειλα το αποδεικτικό κράτησης, με το όνομα του ξενοδοχείου , χρέωση κάρτας κτλπ εκείνη είχε την δικιά της κασέτα. ||Οπότε αποφασίζει ο άνδρας μ να επικοινωνήσει μαζί τους κ να δει τι συμβαίνει. ||Αφού ερχόμαστε σε επικοινωνία μαζί τους, απαντάει η ίδια κυρία που μας έγραφε κ μέσω μηνυμάτων. ||Ρωτάει ο άνδρας μου βλέπετε την συγκεκριμένη κράτηση? ναι το λέει έχει γίνει, θέλετε κάτι άλλο? Γτ τότε τόση ώρα μας λέτε όλα αυτά? Η απάντηση της δεν έχουμε κάτι άλλο να πούμε.. Καλημέρα σας. Λυπάμαι πραγματικά που τέτοια άτομα έχουν μια τέτοια θέση. ||||Υ. Γ αποφύγετε την κράτηση στα loft δωμάτια γιατί loft =(αν δεν ξέρεις όπως εμείς που την πατήσαμε) έχει τόσο χαμηλό ύψος που από την ώρα που μπαίνεις στο δωμάτιο, πρέπει να είσαι σκυφτός η ξαπλωμένος, στο δε χώρο του ντουζ (ασχολίαστο..) ||||Μόνο η κοπέλα στην καθαριότητα ήταν πολύ ευγενική, χαμογελαστή και καλή στην δουλειά της. ||||Με φιλικούς χαιρετισμούς...
