We have stayed at several 4 and 5 star hotels on Greece. On the front of this hotel it says "luxury hotel" on the wall. This is not the case in all situations and categories. |The room was nice and with a nice balcony and view. The room had a few things missing to make it complete but all in all ok and very clean. |The TV was terrible; only Greek and German channels and the picture went dead constantly. We tried to get this repaired, but they did not have the technical knowledge or English skills to help us. |The English skills of the employees was mostly very bad, especially in the reception! Two of the bar men were quite good, but that was an exception. |The air condition was very good and very quiet.|We had half board which was relatively ok, but it became boring the second week with the exact same meny again. The restaurant manager, Yannis, was a very kind and helpful man. He always remembered everything. The two bar men were also very attentive, but one of the men was too relaxed with joking with us. This became very uncomfortable and annoying!|The breakfast was very standard and boring. Nothing new from day to day. Often they put out leftovers from the dinner the night before. Nothing creative. The greek yogurt was not good and the orange juice tasted "right out of the box", not fresh! The pastries and croissants seemed like the frozen kind, not fresh! The same salami, cheese etc, each day. We were so fed up of this breakfast after a few days. Usually hotel breakfasts are something we really look forward to each morning, but not here! The women that had breakfast service were very nice and attentive and did a good job.|The pool and pool beds were very nice and the lunch meny was very good. Why are they so bad at breakfast? Different chefs?|There are long steep stairs and a long steep hill to the rooms, so do not travel to this hotel if you have walking or mobility problems.|Some of the staff were quite nice, but in general the staff seemed very unprofessional and again, their English was poor. |The beach below the hotel was close and very nice. We can really recommend the restaurant Oliva, excellent food and location!|Will we return to the hotel?...
Read moreLet's start with the positives: super nice hotel, one of the best room interiors and general decorations I've seen in a summer vacational hotel. For sure you should go for a room with a pool. Great views, even though you must be aware there's a road and a few hundred meters of land between the hotel and the ocean. Also, a great beach is by easy walking distance, Mega Ammo. Sivota is also very nice and offers what you need in terms of shops and restaurants. Walking to Sivota is a maximum 20 mins if you're reasonably capable. Also, the service was great - very kind staff always offering help. Breakfast was nice, nothing over the top but still good.
BIG downside: The dinner. My best way to discribe it is "plane food". I have no interest in being overly picky here, but the set menus offered every night is what my 15 year old sister would create in a school assignment. We had three meals out of six in the hotel, meaning it's not necessarily ineadible but just really not worthy of paying extra for. Every meal had; starter: soup - very bland, 2nd: salad - it is what it is (a few greens in a bowl), Main: some meat dish - meat ALWAYS dry and I'm thinking it's either frozen OR is staying in some kind of oven for way too long before being served OR both, Desert: not fresh. Some cake-ish thing or ice cream. Ice-cream felt old or had been refrozen a few times. Cakes cannot have been fresh made, chewy pastry and an "old" taste.
The dinner had flaws so easily taken care of that it makes we wonder why the hell no effort has been made. Please do not pay for this as you have a number of GOOD restaurants around by the beach and in Sivota. Ostria in Sivota was a favourite.
Our stay was great though, as we really just put the dinner aside or "accepted" it when we didn't want...
Read moreStayed a week in this beautiful place. The hotel was all you need for relaxing holiday! It is located up in the hill, even there goes road in front of it, peaceful atmosphere stays. Beautiful pool area, really comfortable sunbeds and if possible, take the room with own pool - it is worth it! And please visit the nearest beach, it is amazing beautiful, restaurant with seafood dishes (Oliva) is also worth tasting. Beds in rooms are also super, guarantee for good sleep.||We enjoyed halfboard and dinner was every night tasty and variable. Wines were on the list and personnel will help for picking the right for every course if needed. Breakfast was fresh and enough options. Also for lunch you can find several tasty snacks and salads on the menu in restaurant so no need to leave the hotel for that. Pool bar offers several beverages so you will not be thirsty :) ||Rental car is good choice if you want to visit cities nearby, there are just few taxies in Sivota village and waiting time can be long. Especially if the weather is not good, everybody wants spend time exploring nearest cities! Sivota is a walk away (approximately 1.5km) and Parga 30min by car. Walking is a little heavier due to hills so be aware if you have problems with your walking. ||But this hotel was everything that was promised, recommend to visit and feel yourself warmly welcome by...
