Camping Limnopula stands out for its excellent location on the shores of the lake, offering a truly stunning experience. The pitches, spacious and flat on grassy terrain, provide breathtaking views, with the lake just a few steps away. It’s particularly charming to see, especially in the morning, the young rowers from the nearby canoeing center preparing their boats and starting to row on the calm waters, adding a lively touch to the atmosphere.
Another advantage is its proximity to the town center, which can be reached with a 20-minute walk. There, you’ll find several restaurants and the main local attractions, ideal for those who want to explore the area or simply enjoy a meal out without needing to drive the camper.
The campsite does have some limitations, especially during the low season when the reception isn't always open. The reception is closed from 12:30 to 15:30, so it’s important to plan your check-in and other administrative needs accordingly. The price is quite competitive: €25 per day for a camper and two people, including electricity.
As for the facilities, the bathrooms, while not the most modern, are clean and functional. Everything you need is available, from showers to a dishwashing area, complete with a microwave, fridge, and even a washing machine. Additionally, the campsite offers a black water disposal area (chemical toilet), but we couldn't find a dedicated area for gray water disposal. It could either be missing or just not easy to spot.
In summary, Camping Limnopula is a great choice for those seeking tranquility, spectacular views, and a good lakeside location, with the added benefit of being close to the town center. However, there are a few small organizational and structural improvements that...
Read moreA relaxing overnight stay in a beautiful, freeform environment, overlooking the lake. ||This is not a five star campsite but it was a five star stay for us. ||Pitches were informal / unmarked, which we like, affording more privacy than 'uniform' campsite layouts. We had a tranquil lakeside spot. Sadly it is not possible to swim in the lake due to the water quality, but this is not in the control of the campsite. ||If you have a boat or canoe it is possible to launch from the site, which houses the local rowing club. Inevitably guests will hear rowers on the lake. Not an issue for us. ||It was an easy walk from the campsite to the walled town, making this site the ideal choice for those visiting the town.||Both indoor and outdoor cooking facilities are provided. Fridges, cookers, bbqs and indoor and outdoor eating areas. Laundry facilities are also provided and the use of the washing machine is free of charge.||The toilets were fine, if outdated. Clean with toilet paper provided. Only two of the four separate ladies toilets were open at the time of our visit, with two undergoing repair to the doors. ||I didn't use the showers, but these looked clean. ||There is a gate from the campsite to the neighbouring restaurant with tables overlooking the lake. Stunning.||We had no issues with the electricity supply, which we used and was sufficient to operate our aircon unit, fridge and water heater concurrently. This is one of only two sites in a four week stay in Greece that has enabled this. ||We will return in the future.||NB: The site does experience some infrequent aircraft noise as on a flight path. I heard 3 planes during our stay, one in the late evening (9.30 ish). Not a problem for us, but...
Read moreWhen we arrived the entrance was like an entrance back in time run down and desolate, time of year maybe?) We pulled up along side a beautiful lake with unfortunately no swimming allowed, the reception was empty no one was in ( desolate) bathrooms acceptable ( cleaned) an iced over freezer and unclean fridge ( spoiled good inside). There was a washing machine was available ( free) but the quality was not good had to re rinse and re spin clothes that took 3 days to dry. We went out no one was in we returned to see a lady whom presented with an annoyance towards us asking who we were, how long we stay, if we had a negative lateral flow test, then asked for our covid vaccination certificate ( understandably) these were presented ( rightly so) then came a nasty attitude "Oh well I didn't know you were coming back, I didn't show you around, you just left", I was in my office upstairs ( no she was .ot we checked) this attitude put me off ( maybe a bad life? ) we stayed as it was late in the evening. The angry lady said "I am back in the morning by 09.00 and 10.00 we waited she appeared and we paid €50.00 EURO WHAT!! that was not what we were expecting maybe €30.00 (low season) I would not recommend this place due to the angry lady sorry, the lady cleaning the bathrooms was lovely. I forgot to mention the grand kitchen with a clean and PAT tested equipment it would be useful. Sorry two stars would be -1 but the...
