HOTEL KIERION KARDITSA GREECE — Hotel in Karditsa Municipality

It seems we booked a room with 3 beds via booking.com which got denied while check-in. They put us in a "double room" (officially upgradet). No problem so far for us. Unfortunately the room was old and shabby. As a great welcome gift you breathe the old cigarette smoke from other people in the rooms. The carpet is the dirtiest i ever saw in a hotel room. Balcony was never cleaned before. Bathroom needs to be refurbished as soon a possible. Good thing: the room was quite big which is a small plus!

We booked 2 nights as a stopover in Kaditsa. As we are well aware that this city offers not that much sightseeing we chose a hotel (the only one in town) with a great pool to simply relax after a long roundtrip. Unfortunately - the pool was closed the whole time. And of course we need to pay the whole expensive amount of that hotel. On Friday morning some rain occured but late morning, noon and afternoon the weather changed to sunny and 29 degrees. Pool stays closed. I complained at the reception and i took the agreement with the general manager to sit there without using the pool. He promised me to be able to use the pool tomorrow (sunday) even after checkout. Mmmh. Okay so far. Now it is sunday. No rain. Warm weather. The whole area is closed again. Never ever such hotel! We now will get our money back from...

There are not many hotels in Karditsa as it is not a tourist town. I was there in business and my partners recommended this one for me. Well, the service is very good, people are helpful and nice - the staff is the best option here. Second of all, it is very clean, they tidy up everyday and I cannot say a bad word about that. But there are some disadvantages that could be corrected really quickly, but they remain: fridges don't work, bathrooms are old and used and bathtubs are just so uncomfortable that you just don't want to take a bath nor take a shower. the rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff is polite, efficient and professional. good breakfast, quiet rooms with all the amenities.the hotel has a pool but didnt get to use it because of renovations, on stating some shortcomings of one room on my latest visit the clerk at the reception was attentive and uniquely dissapointed that we didnt mention the problems we had (the hairdryer wasn't working well and the toilet boil wouldnt stop flushing), still we have had great stays at this hotel so it didnt discourage from...
