We got the Olive villa.
It's a complex which has about 5 6 villas situated on a mountain near Nydri. The way up to the complex is done via a abrupt and not very well paved road.
The place was clean but had a very small problem with ants coming from the corner of the house. Maybe we did not understand this right but when we arrived the owner told us that staff will come in daily to clean take care of the house/pool. That did not happen and after we asked they told us that they change the towels only once a week. But every time we asked for help they responded immediately, as for the pool someone came every day to clean it.
The 2 bottom bedroom were amazing with a nice view. The bedroom in the attic was ok but it had no view. The biggest problem for the attic bedroom was the bathroom witch had poor ventilation and was very cramped, showers were hard to take. Luckily the house hss a 4th bathroom in the main living area that the attic people used.
Now for the good stuff.
The view is just amazing. Being the highest villa in the complex we got a good view of the island.
The pool was great it's has a sistem that refills it's self and filters the water. It was always warm and was great for pictures.
The house had everything you would need for the stay. Dishwasher stove coffee maker etc.
The AC works great. Every room has an ac unit and the house was never hot.
The also recycle and informed us how to separate everything. A plus in my book.
All things considered i would recommend the place. The price was a bit steep for what we eventually got but it's decent. If it looked like the pictures on booking it would have been...
Read moreFor the first time in my life we decided to come back to the same place in consecutive years. This is the highest praise I could give for Amalia villas. Everything is faultless. The views are unsurpassed, I tried to find similar views by trawling through villa listings on over 10 Greek islands and I just couldn't. The infinity pool is huge and spotlessly clean (cleaned every morning as well as the garden and outside areas daily). Inside the villa, the traditional furniture is its charm and the Aircon (thankfully) is really effective.||The amazing views from the villas are due to them being located high up on the hillside overlooking Nidri and the beautiful islands. Due to their lofty heights, the road down into Nidri can seem a bit daunting at first but we absolutely love the 30 minute walk down into Nidri each night, passing the fragrant oleander bushes and the countless olive groves (as well as the many kittens, dogs and friendly locals). We then get one of the local taxis to bring us back at night.||Nadia, the owner, is equally wonderful and is always on hand if we ever needed anything (we never have, which is again testament to the brilliant facilities at the villas). ||Both times that we've visited (June and September) the guests in the neighbouring villas have been friendly and quiet. The only noise you'll hear throughout the day are the cicadas. I could go on but to try to keep it brief, don't even question booking one of the villas as you won't regret it. We're already booking...
