I and my husband are about to leave King Maron Hotel after 13 fantastic days of relaxation, comfort and wellbeing.||I am a frequent traveller and used to different hotel environments. Therefore I would like to point out the very friendly atmosphere, making one feeling very welcome, that was mainly created by the the fantastic staff. Sonja, Stella and Yannis at the reception, Sophia, the masseur with truly magical hands and skills (which I recommend deeply as she managed to untie several stress knosts in my neck). The Chef, who was checking on the breakfast counters making sure that nothing was missing etc, etc.|All of them are headed by Lia the Hotel Manager. Lia runs the hotel in a most skillful way, and she is obviously the one setting the tone of the staff´s amicability and keeping the high standards of the hotel.||The hotel has a very good location facing the sea from a small hill. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable and impeccably clean. The breakfast offers a variety of dishes and the possible combinations of food are endless. ||The private beach is as natural it can be. It has not been destroyed by various touristic things, and the absolutely best thing about it - apart from the clean water - is that there is no music from loudspeakers making it possible for everyone to actually relax. The beach is environmentally protected meaning that no alterations of it can be done which I am greatly thankful for. The beach pebbles and stones making the water grea, clean and transparent. I recommend the usage of plastic beach shoes.||Lia was very helpful with guiding me to a one day visit to the island of Samothraki, a two hours ferry ride from Alexandroupoli. Hadn´t it been for her precise instructions we wouldn´t have been able to to see the ancient Paleopolis of the Sanctuary of the Great Gods, nor the Fonia Gorge leading to several waterfalls and crystal clear waters where many bathed, all in one day.||The hotel is really fantastic for all who need a rest. Should one need to buy something, the nearest city is Komotini, 30 km away. I would also strongly recommend a visit to Alexandroupoli.||All in all, the hotel is a gem, and because it is not too big, there is a feeling of exclusivity about it. I am very glad that I found this hotel and I...
Read moreMy family and I recently spent a long weekend at the King Maron Hotel, and it was truly a memorable experience that we will cherish for years to come. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and a level of hospitality that set the tone for our entire stay. The location of the hotel is unbeatable, right by the sea, offering breathtaking views of the ocean. Our room was beautifully decorated and impeccably clean, with a balcony that provided a perfect vantage point for morning coffee. The kids were thrilled to discover that the room also had TV channels in our native language. The facilities were outstanding. The pool area was well-maintained, with plenty of loungers. We spent hours enjoying the direct access to the beach. Dining at the hotel's restaurant was a highlight. The menu was diverse, catering to both adults and kids, with fresh seafood being a standout. The breakfast buffet was a delightful way to start each day, offering a variety of options to suit every taste. The staff were attentive and went out of their way to accommodate our dietary preferences. A special mention must be made of the General Manager, Lia. Her presence was felt throughout our stay, from her friendly greetings in the lobby to her genuine interest in ensuring that we were enjoying our time at the resort. She was exceptionally responsive to our requests and even took the time to recommend local attractions and activities for our family. Her dedication to guest satisfaction was evident in every interaction, making us feel valued and welcome. The attention to detail and commitment to excellence at King Maron is a testament to the leadership of Lia and the collaboration of the whole wonderful team. We left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, with wonderful memories of our time by the sea. We are already looking forward to...
Read moreHotel and wait staff everywhere in Greece are super friendly and helpful all the time.
The biggest issue that we had was the constant noise from some kind of generator at all times. We were on the first floor, room #103, and the room itself was perfect - very clean, nice AC, but when you decide to open a window or the door to the balcony for some fresh air, the noise was terribly loud and was non-stop, so at night, when you feel like opening the door to the balcony to let in some fresh air, you can't fall asleep.
The second issue was the spa area.
Generally, the spa was alright - it is kept clean, and you are provided water and towels. The lady who runs the spa facilities was very friendly and explains everything to the guests. The massages were also good value and relaxing.
The situation was, that except for the one lady - who also does the massages - there is nobody else. On the day she was off work, some of the spa facilities weren't turned on, and there was no water or towels, and no one to give any info to the guests. I don't who is responsible, it just doesn't look good for the hotel's image.
We were in that hotel for 6 days, the food was good, staff is very friendly and accommodating.
The food at the restaurant is good quality - the portions, however, are too much for one person, and the food in general was somewhat more expensive than other places - but you do not feel ripped off because the portions are huge.
The place is great for rest and relaxation, going to the beach and getting some spa treatments, if you are visiting the area for the purposes of places to go sightseeing or any kind of entertainment - there isn't.
And the sunset views from the hotel beach are breathtaking. One of the most...
