Mirabella Hills, Crete — Hotel in Municipality of Agios Nikolaos

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️|Wonderful stay at Mirabella Hills Villa Lato!||The rooms were excellent — spacious, comfortable, and contemporary. Outstanding outdoor space and hospitality.||We had an absolute blast staying here with our 8-month-old daughter and her grandparents. A perfect villa for both relaxation and family comfort!|||Rooms:|The kitchen was a real highlight: fully equipped. On top of that, the fridge was thoughtfully stocked with juice oranges, breakfast goods (sandwich ingredients, eggs, milk). Plus we didn't have to worry about basic beverages coffee, tea, juice, water etc. and basic seasonings - all were there.||Each bedroom had its own private bathroom, which was great. One small suggestion: the upper bedroom could have an option to combine the twin mattresses into one larger bed (tie the mattresses/ bed bases).||The living room was very nice and comfortable, perfect for relaxing in the evening.||Laundry facilities were a big plus — I could easily wash clothes and pack my suitcase neatly before heading home.||And of course, our favorite part was the outdoor terrace! The pool, sun loungers, umbrellas, landscaping and dining area with that stunning mountain, sea and city view were truly the cherry on top.||The air conditioning was excellent — powerful yet gentle, keeping the rooms cool without being too cold and getting headache. We could comfortably sleep and relax with it running - first time experience for me.||Service:|Service was outstanding. The hosts were extremely helpful and accommodating. Rarely have we experienced such genuine hospitality — from the stocked fridge on arrival to the thoughtful goodbye gift. ||They provided our baby clean and new-ish cot and high chair. From our total 11 night stay in Crete I met them in various condition - one worse than others so I was pleasantly surprised.||The villa was easy to keep tidy, fully equipped, and comfortable enough that we didn’t even need cleaning service during our five-night stay.||Although the villa was on the pricier side, the hospitality, house itself and views made it truly worth it — the quality, comfort, and attention to detail made our stay exceptional.|||Location:|The walk to Agios Nikolaos and in the surrounding with a stroller was surprisingly manageable, at least until it got dark. I also recommend walking uphill to enjoy the quietness (atleast in October) and panoramic view of the sea, mountains and Agios Nikolaos.||I gave for the location five stars however Agios Nikolaos and the eastern side of Crete weren’t quite our favourites — we preferred Rethymno and Chania for their sights, dining, and shops. But Villa Lato made up for it completely! It was the perfect place to unwind, and during our last five days we were so happy just relaxing in the villa...

Like any holiday maker that has booked accommodation, there is always a bit of nerves about it. Will it be as good as the pictures on the websites. I was reassured it would be fine due to the outstanding communication from Yvonne and all the team at Mirabella Hills. On arrival at Villa Lato we were met by Mikhalis even though our arrival was very late he showed the property explaining features as he went, before he left he sent recommendations for things to see and do in the area including restaurants. I should also mention that prior to arrival, the team set up a WhatsApp group. The accommodation,  wow to say it exceeded expectations is an understatement, the space is bigger  than the photographs suggested. The large glass sliding doors open onto the outside area, giving the feeling of even more space. The kitchen is small but has everything you need and bread, milk fruits, cereal and milk had been left for us, this was amazing and helped until we could get to the supermarket.  The lovely bottle of red wine was definitely well received The bedrooms are absolutely perfect, the upstairs room has a spectacular view over the pool, sea then hills, there were two couples in our party which meant we had a bedroom and bathroom each. The bathroom has plenty of room and a large shower,  the decor is plain, giving a classy clean look. There was an abundance of products, shampoo, soaps, etc, perfect if you forget anything. Any questions we asked during our stay were answered within a couple of minutes. On top of all this on the Sunday and Wednesday we had two amazing ladies come in, we expected a change of bedding and towels, they also cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms and all the floors, what a fantastic service whole Villa sparkling. I should say that we were asked if we wanted them to come so you could choose not to if you wanted. The pool was cleaned several times during our stay, which was a real plus as we used it a lot during our stay. There was also an option to have the pool heated. We didn't, but at least the offer was there. I really hope I will get the chance to...

There is a certain truth about Creta hospitality that we have experienced with every visit made to this beautiful island... When you first meet, you are strangers. When you leave, you are friends.

We have just come to the end of our 6-week stay at Mirabella Hills, Villa Oxa. This is our second winter spent in the Agios Nikolaos area. And it has become quite apparent to us that because of the hospitality of the people, the beauty of this town and surrounding area, and the charm of Villa Oxa, we feel like we are indeed home.

As I write this, I am looking out over the mountains that lie on the other side of Mirabello Bay. This villa, with its private inground pool, expansive deck with covered eating area, and modern, clean house is pure luxury.

We had the opportunity to visit old haunts for lunch/dinners. Tavernas and restaurants in the close by villages and in town were a quick drive when the notion struck. And again, there was the Creta hospitality. Or if we were inclined to lay low and cocoon at the Villa, the kitchen and added bonus of a barbeque on deck made easy work of our meals in.

But what made this such a lovely place to stay is how wonderful our hosts are. Mikhalis and Margarita are simply a joy to get to know.
