Porto Bello Hotel Apartments — Hotel in Municipality of Agios Nikolaos

Porto Bella lies on the western edge of Milatos beach. Our studio, No8, was small but had a good bathroom and an excellent terrace looking out to the mountains and the sunset. Unfortunately we only stayed three nights as there was no availability for longer. Joanna was very welcoming and helpful. The sea water pool was a good size and the outside shower washed away the salt. Breakfast of juice, coffee, boiled egg, yoghurt with dried fruit, honey, fresh fruit, bread (and processed ham and cheese if you like them) was a good start to the day. The small sandy beach was a short distance away as were a number of eating places. At the eastern edge is an open pebble beach. It was windy when we were there so too rough for me but better swimmers enjoyed the waves. Of the tavernas we particularly enjoyed Socratesand Balos which is further east by Milatos small beach. Cudowne miejsce i cudowni właściciele It is impossible to describe my wonderful vacation in PortoBello in one sentence. It was wonderful, the owners are wonderful people, they really care about their guests. Every day Paris made sure that there was no shortage of fruit by the pool for the guests, offered grapes, nectarines and very tasty cookies baked to order. Ioanna, on the other hand, baked fresh bread for breakfast every day and always made sure that everyone had something good for themselves. I must add that the bread is very good and very healthy, baked according to Ioanna's recipe, I have very serious health problems and I usually don't eat bread, but Ioanna's bread was delicious and I could eat it without any problems. Nous avons fait étape une nuit au Porto Bello mais nous aurions aimé prolonger tant l'accueil de Joanna est chaleureux. Sans parler des nombreux points forts de l'hotel. Sa situation : tout petit port charmant, au bout du monde,toute petite plage de sable très abritée du vent et des vagues, tavernes de poisson frais proches, bar branché tres sympa qui anime avec sa musique et ses illuminations nocturnes les abords de la plage, mini-markets absence d'immeubles hauts, ambiance calme et familiale. Bel arrière-plan de montagnes. Un peu à l'écart sur l'axe Agios Nikolaos /Heraklion. L'hotel : accueil chaleureux de Joanna, piscine d'eau de mer très chaude et bien orientée, joli jardin très fleuri et vert, bâtiments blancs et bleu marine harmonieux, situés en sortie du village donc pas de circulation, mais à 3 pas de tout et avec vue sur le port. Nous avions un studio avec terrasse vue mer et montagne, très lumineux, les lits sont les meilleurs de tous les hôtels crétois que nous ayons testés ! A mémoire de forme, confortables, larges. Salle d'eau petite mais moderne, douche avec porte vitrée ce qui n'est pas fréquent dans cette categorie. Petit déjeuner continental face à la piscine ou au jardin, avec le pain maison de Joanna, extrêmement dense et nourrissant, vraiment délicieux. Un endroit très relaxant. Les clients étaient lors de notre passage, essentiellement des personnes retraitées, allemandes, donc endroit tres calme et très relaxant. |Joanna nous a offert un pot de miel. |Point faibles : rien à redire ! Peut-être en cherchant bien le nettoyage a la javel du tapis de douche antidérapant (nécessaire car carrelage glissant) trop noirci.. Voiture nécessaire si l'on veut aller se ballader, car c'est au bout de quelques lacets de route montagneuse et donc isolé. Mais pas nécessaire si l'on a besoin de vacances baignade-lecture-farniente dans un cadre familial...
