The apartments are well appointed and very spacious. They're clean and offer exceptional views of the surrounding area. The pool is inviting and the architecture of the place really impressive. These villas have been built with an eye to quality which makes it odd that the beds are so terribly hard. And, they offer enough in the way of kitchen utensils so you really can self-cater. There's also a washing machine! I would think the villas would suit families or groups looking to stay in this out of the way part of Crete for a week or more.||||They are rather difficult to access however. There are two ways of getting to the villas. Both involve driving on unmade roads (a problem if you have a hire car with a no off-road driving clause). One of the ways of getting to the villas is downright dangerous. The track is steep and deeply rutted. Our little hire car struggled to cope (as did we!). This road is just not viable. If not for a helpful couple who we happened upon while trying to negotiate this track, we would have abandoned all hope that anything decent lay at the end of that road. The owner really should provide some information about access to the property to prospective clients so they can make an informed choice. Moreover, there should be some explicit instructions provided to guests BEFORE they arrive about how to access the villas via the less hair-raising route! Be warned that GPS takes you down the hair-raising route. I also found it odd that we did not see the owner at all during our stay. We had to use international roaming to call him when we arrived in order to gain access to the building and then again in order to negotiate how to pay. There was no option but to use credit card under these circumstances. All in all, these calls add to the cost...
Read moreI stayed with my family in this beautiful villa for 5 nights. The villa where we stayed is one of the three in the complex. Our villa is on two levels, with two bedrooms and the main bathroom on the upper floor, and dining, living and a toilet on the bottom floor. The kitchen is fully equipped. A swimming pool is shared with the other guests of the complex: it is small but offers a superb view over the Libyan see. We enjoyed the warm welcome by Nikos, and the products of his work: oil, honey, and fruit. The Lititiana villas are located on the hill just above the beautiful beach of Triopetra, surrounded by olive trees. It is a quiet place to relax, and is close to numerous fine beaches of the Cretan south coast. Triopetra is not really a village, but just a collection of farming houses and vacation villas spread on the hill. Several tavernas are available to have good meals, but for the other services (like grocery shopping) you have to go to Spili, the nearest large village, which is about 25 min drive from Triopetra. So you better buy the supplies for your stay on your way to Triopetra, and then enjoy the silence and peace of the villa, and the beautiful starry nights. The beach of Triopetra is just 10 min drive from the villa, while other beaches are within 20 to 60 min drive. A car is needed for your stay, and the villa is not indicated for...
Read moreWe arrived in the area late on the last Greek Sunday bank holiday weekend without having booked anything. All available accommodation was totally booked up. One of the places we went to rang the owner Nikos of Litiniana Villas. One room had just become vacant but wasn't cleaned. Their cleaner was on holiday for the bank holiday and the mother of the owner offered to clean it for us. We arrived 8.30 in the evening to a delightful family that welcomed us with lovely smiles that had obviously put themselves out for us despite being a holiday for them. ||The place is just perfect! I thought I was in Tuscany and not in Crete never mind I come from the other side of Crete! It's absolutely wonderful! Only three apartments and a swimming pool surrounded by olive groves, carob trees and a beautiful view down the sea. I thoroughly recommend the place for the most idylic holiday for a family, a romantic weekend away, for friends sharing for anybody! It's a really, truly magic place and the owner Nikos is a truly lovely guy who took us to his mum's village in order for us to eat authentic Cretan food. If you are looking for a truly memorable holiday put Litiniana Villas in high priority....It truly is the place to stay and experience Crete...
