We went to Tinos island for our annual visit to the most holy shrine in Greece. We stayed at Neriidas, a newly renovated apartment style hotel. We were welcomed warmly and treated like family. The rooms are basic super clean acoomodations with a/c and a five minute walk from the beach. We got picked up from the ferry and were taken down to the port so your not reliant on taxi service. The rooms have a small fridge, and there is always plenty of hot water for a good shower. The rooms were not smelly like you see in other establishments in Greece. We traveled with our five year old daughter and they invited us to go to a hillside village with them on Saturday night for dinner at a rustic tavern. The plan was to eat and have our daughter play with the children in the village square. The food was good and the company of the owners was fun. They only speak Greek but then again thats very common when you travel and it always helps to be able to communicate. We plan to return next year and stay at Neriides with Joseph and Katerina . We actually learned a good lesson from this trip; Tinos Island has many undiscovered places to see aside from the shrine of the Virgin Mary and is well worth a stay. It is only 15 minutes by boat from Myconos and 20 from Syros with very frequent connections so that you can easily day trip either of the two without having to...
Read moreThe hotel is very nice, with spacious rooms and clean premises. The children also enjoyed the pool before going to the beach. It also has a large lobby to watch tv or chat with friends. Parking and wifi is available. The rooms were cleaned every day. No breakfast is included but the apartments are self catered and very well maintained. ||||Andros island is a very unspoiled island which has mostly Greek and some foreign tourists. The beach next to the hotel was superb it had a number of beach bars and good music and the waters were crystal clear. The whole week we were there it was windy and there was no need to use A/C. Similar to all Cycladic islands it gets windy at the beach also and is perfect for water sports lovers. ||||There was a water sports school at the Agios Petros beach and we tried wind surfing. The hotel is very convenient only 10 minutes away from Gavrion port and near Batsi (car drive was 10 min). Batsi was a beautiful town with lovely restaurants and cafes to enjoy and nice boardwalk. We will definitely visit again since its very convenient from Athens, only a 2 hr boat ride...
Read moreWe stayed at one of the apartments (No18 to be specific). 2 adults and 2 small children.|The apartment was spacious and pretty clean. Was equipped with the very basics for self catering but it was ok for us as we only stayed over for 4 nights. For more nights the apartments need to be equipped better.|Our apartment was not that good mainly because of the north wind blowing which did not allow us to enjoy the balcony, which was really bad as we had to take breakfast and dinner inside. The rest of the apartments had balconies which were a bit windproof with a nice view and access to the garden which would have been nice for the kids.Unfortunately not ours.|The price was not bad for an apartment, although breakfast was not offered, but would have been more value for money if we were too enjoy the outside as well. |Additionally the swimming pool was out of order which was bad but at least the beaches were pretty close and wonderful.|If I were to visit the facilities again I would definitely ask for a windproof apartment with garden...
