Stayed here for the last 3 nights of a 2 week holiday-next time we will stay at Marika for the full fortnight! Travelled with my 17 year old son and 24 year old daughter. From the moment we arrived,we were overwhelmed by the kind hospitality of Stephanie and her son Rich, who provided us with a welcome drink and gave us information about the surrounding area. Rich then helped us take our luggage to the room. We were amazed with the breathtaking views-the photos don't do it justice. Stayed in the 1 bed apartment, spotlessly clean with air con. Lovely deep pool with a diving board, and although it is a haven of peace and tranquility,we had some good fun practising our dive-bombing skills! Read moreSpent a week here in early October pretty much had the place to ourselves. Stephanie was a fabulous host making us very welcome and nothing was to much trouble. However we had clean bedding and towels three times during our week stay which from experience of self catering in Greece is not bad at all.||Location was perfect just a short drive from the village of Georgioupoli which has many tavernas, bars and supermarkets and of course the wonderful long sandy beach.||View from the terrace is stunning in whichever direction you look and the stars at night were stunning.||Great holiday lovely location and would definetly...
Read moreTo the point, and as with the majority, if not all, of previous reviews, Marika is pure heaven. A totally fabulous experience, on all levels. Richard and his family, and the housekeeper, Monika, are wonderful, could not be more kind and helpful. Views? Out of the world. Rooms? The same. As I said then and now, if these apartments were on Ibiza or Mykonos, you'd be stung for 2,000 euro a week. Exopolis was also fab, as was Vamos with its great tavernas. We're going back next year. Period. And the following year. Etc. Etc. The nearest town, down the hill, also fab, and you're between two of the most beautiful cities on the wonderful Island of Crete. Don't take my word for it, mind: Go. And enjoy...
