Hydrele review
First let me say this is not really a 4-star hotel. It may have been at one time, I don't know. But if you look up what a 4-star hotel's requirements are, this hotel is sorely lacking.
The staff here is miserable, from the front desk right through to the housekeeper. Unhappy people are easy to spot. They did help us with requesting taxis or making a dinner reservation but there is no concierge or bell staff, as you would expect in a 4-star.
The hotel property is on the beach but there are very few lounge chairs available. Unless you're willing to get up at the crack of dawn and claim a spot, forget it. You can't use the beach here. The staff is well aware of this situation, why not buy a few more? You charge for the chairs, anyway.
I must mention that they did pick us up from the airport, with only a tip to the driver. The hotel is about 6 minutes from the airport and we appreciated the service after a long day of travel.
As for the experience at the hotel:
The rooms are nothing more than adequate. You have to put your own top sheet on the bed and no blanket is provided. Plastic curtains.
There is a safe in each room. When I needed help figuring out the instructions (they were the wrong instructions for my safe) I was told it would cost €2 per day to use it (again not a 4-star situation) --but the man at the desk said I could use it without extra charge. Thank you!
Not enough towels in the bathroom, but there is a mini fridge and they provide 2 small bottles of water for your stay, no matter how long you're there.
Hot water for the shower is about every other day. The shower was so small that you had to turn the water off in order to soap up or shampoo, as there was no way to avoid the overhead water stream (which had great water pressure!). Want to shave your legs? Open the shower door & put your foot on the toilet.
They tell you there's free WiFi, but my phone was always pointing out that the WiFi was turned off. Maddening!
Breakfast was included, and we tried it twice. It's a buffet where all of the food is open, shared serving spoons and a cutting board with bread that everyone touches to cut. I was afraid of catching something & the food was not worth any risk. We found a coffee shop and a bakery in Pythagoreo which were great.
On Wednesday nights they host a Greek Dance Party in their awful bar. The music is okay and the dancers looked like they were learning for the first time. Music kept me awake until just before midnight.
All in all, I would suggest booking your summer stay as early as possible and stay at one of the nicer hotels...

Worth noting that the beach has small rocks (not sand) but it turns into sand after walking about 7 meters into the sea.||||The food wasn’t the best. The dinner often had overcooked vegetables soaked in oil, overcooked meats which are weren’t changing from day to day. One exeptional positive was the coffee, which was full and fresh even to my finnish standards.||||The staff was partly polite and nice, partly a bit unprofessional and rude.
