⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding Stay at Grand Sea View Villa
This was our first time booking this villa and we were not sure what to expect, but it turned out to be one of the best holiday experiences we have ever had. The hosts were excellent from the very beginning. They reassured us when we saw there were no reviews on Airbnb by explaining that the villa was also listed elsewhere and encouraged us to check reviews on other platforms. Their communication was always quick and helpful, and even when our flight from Manchester was delayed they kindly met us at the villa after 2am.
The villa is located in a peaceful and remote setting near Tympaki. A tip for future visitors is to plan your routes in advance and try to stay on the main roads. Google Maps sometimes directs you down unfinished tracks, which can feel daunting if you are driving in the dark or are unfamiliar with the area.
When we arrived the villa looked even better than the photos. It was beautifully lit, with a secure gated driveway, modern front entrance, and a very spacious interior. The views the next morning were breathtaking. You can see the sea, the mountains, and even a distant island. At night, the lights of Agia Galini are visible across the water, creating a beautiful setting with only the sound of crickets and waves from the sea in the background.
Inside, the villa is very well equipped. The kitchen has everything you need including oven, hob, microwave, kettle, toastie maker, coffee press, and Nespresso machine with pods. The hosts also provided some essentials which saved us from rushing out to a supermarket straight away.
There are three modern bedrooms, two doubles and one twin, each with its own bathroom and smart TV. The TVs allow you to log into your own streaming accounts such as Netflix, Disney+ and Prime. The main TV also supports AirPlay. Bedrooms have plenty of storage and there is a safe for passports and valuables.
The outdoor areas are the real highlight. The infinity pool is superb with a connected jacuzzi and semi submerged loungers. There is also a table tennis table that kept the children entertained throughout the stay. Multiple seating areas are available including a shaded first floor terrace with a dining table, a rooftop terrace with even more elevated views, and a comfortable moon chair that is perfect for relaxing with a book.
There is also an outdoor dining area next to the wood fired BBQ and pizza oven. We did not get the chance to use it as we ate out most evenings or made quick meals indoors, but it is an excellent feature for those who enjoy outdoor cooking.
During our stay we visited Kalamaki and had a fantastic meal at The Myth of Aphrodite, and in Agia Galini we enjoyed Old Town Brasserie Restaurant. We also drove further to Rethymno and the Old Venetian Port of Chania, both of which are very picturesque and worth visiting. The hosts were always available to answer questions and gave us recommendations on attractions such as the zoo, waterpark, and the Hippy Caves at Matala.
On our final day they were kind enough to allow a late checkout until 11:45am, which made our departure far more comfortable.
Overall this villa is perfect for anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay with stunning views, a spectacular infinity pool, several outdoor seating areas, and great hosts. It was an unforgettable holiday and we would...
Read moreWe stayed at the Grand Sea View Luxury Villa from August 17th for one week, and by the end of our stay, we wished we had booked for two! This villa was exactly what we needed for a peaceful family getaway, providing the perfect environment to completely switch off and relax.
The villa is spacious and beautifully designed, with an open-plan living and dining area and three generously sized bedrooms, giving us plenty of room to spread out and unwind. Everything in the villa had been meticulously thought out, from the layout to the amenities. Although the weather was incredibly hot, with temperatures reaching over 36 degrees, this was never a problem. The villa was fully equipped to keep us cool, with air conditioning throughout, a large infinity pool that became our daily oasis, and an egg chair tucked under shelter—perfect for reading in the shade.
One of the highlights of the villa is the abundance of outdoor spaces. With three different balconies and terraces, as well as an outdoor kitchen and BBQ area, we were spoiled for choice when it came to enjoying the stunning surroundings. The views were nothing short of breathtaking—stretching out to the sea in front, with mountains framing the sides and back of the property. The sunsets and sunrises were some of the most spectacular we have ever witnessed.
While the villa's location is remote, this is exactly what we were looking for. A car is definitely necessary, but the seclusion is part of the charm. The sea nearby is more for admiring than swimming, but a short 10-minute drive took us to a beautiful beach where we could enjoy the water to our heart's content.
Our host truly went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We were greeted with a fridge and cupboard stocked with essentials to last us the first couple of days, which was a thoughtful touch. The laundry room was well-equipped for washing and drying clothes, though the heat meant that drying clothes outside took less than 30 minutes—a bonus that allowed us to return home with suitcases full of clean clothes.
Overall, our stay at the Grand Sea View Luxury Villa was pure bliss. If you're looking for a tranquil retreat with stunning views, luxurious amenities, and a thoughtful host, this is the place for you. We can't wait to return, and next time, we'll definitely be staying...
Read moreWe had a wonderful holiday in this Villa. Nikos and his family were very accommodating and very quick to answer any questions we had. The villa is even better than the pictures, the location is remote, so you have to want this, for us it was perfect.
The taverna on the beach is a 2 minute walk away and the supermarket was a 5 minute drive. The outdoor kitchen was great and we had a couple of amazing evenings bbqing and enjoying the silence and the magical skies. We found a few lovely restaurants none of which were too far to drive.
The house is beautiful with everything you may need and the fridge was even stocked for us which was a very kind gesture.
The beach is 1 minute on foot from the house, it is beautiful but rocky so it’s not ideal to swim, however a few hundred meters in either direction will lead you to beautiful beaches with beds and where you can safely swim. The beaches are very clean and not overfilled.
We can highly recommend this villa. You will definitely need a car.
The drive from Heraklion airport was an hour.
If I could give it 6 stars I would, simply for its serenity and beautiful location.
