We arrived in Stemnitsa during a holiday weekend and the town was jammed with tourists. Since the Guesthouse has no parking, we were a little nervous as all parking was jammed for at least half a mile before the town. Fortunately, the hotel reserves off the entire street in front of the property and as you arrive they emerge to clear away the traffic cones, chairs or whatever else they're using to reserve their spaces. We were welcomed with Greek desserts and a liqueur, all of which were available for our entire stay. The property has a distinct B&B feel with only a small number of rooms with those at the back being preferable. Once parked, no real need to move the car as restaurants, hiking trails etc are only a very short distance. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable and a real bargain. Our room was spacious and spotless with a small outside balcony. ||||The lady in charge did all she could have possibly done to ensure we had all we wanted. The village was quiet ( during the first week of April). We learned things are busier in the winter in the mountains. ||||We walked bits of the nearby Menalon Trail which is really well marked. Read moreThe Best Guest House in Stemnitsa Village. Mr.Tasos and Mrs Garifalia are the most gracious hosts. The highlight of our stay was the home made Breakfast which included the most delicious pies with local greens and omelettes made with fresh eggs and cheese. Plus the real greek coffee!!! We felt welcome and right at home . The WiFi was super, the lounge room was cosy with the fire always lit , although it was cold outside we were always nice and warm in our imaculate clean rooms . As a tour guide I have stayed in different accomodations and I strongly recommend this guest house and actually this village from where one can explore the region.
