Potali Bay — Hotel in Municipality of Karpathos

We stayed here for a couple of weeks in July, a family of four. The kids (11 and 14) loved how quiet and clean it was, as did my husband and I. The rooms and the entire surroundings are clean and beautiful. Sea was occasionally rugged but swimming was always possible. Good snorkelling too! Lots of shade available, and lovely food (pizza, souvlaki, fish - whatever you need, tasty, fresh and at very good prices too). If you look for a quiet, beautiful place away from the crowd, we warmly recommend this place! Owners are warm and helpful, yet laid-back - the entire atmosphere is very relaxed. For us, this was luxury: the unspoilt scenery and relaxed mood with so few people around, never ever the least bit crowded. Sometimes we had the entire beach to ourselves - in mid-July! Best of memories. Few minutes walk from Lefkos (nice little town with white sandy beaches, cliffs to explore, some great restaurants, a blessedly sweet bakery, an old village hidden in a cave, a Roman cistern, rolling pastures of olive groves, and many other things), and a stone's throw from a cute supermarket run by a lovely couple....

Fantastic studio hotel rooms with a lot of amenities, including kitchen. Very clean and in a very good state.

The beach is more secluded than the other beaches in the area and offers more privacy. All in all, a gorgeous area to stay and perfect to unwind and disconnect. It feels like a resort with its own private beach!

The restaurant offers good food and is beautifully set up. Lots of fresh produce and traditional dishes. Best tomatoes we’ve ever had!

The family who runs Potali Bay and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Authentic greek hospitality to the max.

We were here for food and on the restaurant terrace they use a bug zapper (uv light with electricity that kills insects that come close) and it's horrible to hear the sound of hundreds of bugs being killed unnecessarily throughout the night. This is a terrible practice when done outdoors so close to nature as it kills thousands of insects that are vital for the ecosystem and it doesn't protect the guests from mosquitoes or flies!. Besides that the food was great, and the service fast. I'm sad to leave this score because the place is good but I do it to call the attention of the owner of the place and will update it as soon i know it was acknowledged...
