Small Paradise Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Karpathos

I wanted to share my recent dining experience with you after deciding to try your restaurant tonight instead of the Blue Swan. Although I have only been here for a week, I have enjoyed a few meals at Blue Swan and thought it was a good time to explore something new. Both your restaurant and Blue Swan are neighbors and hold impressive ratings of 4.7, so I was eager to see what you offered.

There were definitely some positives to my visit. I appreciated that the server was cheerful and welcoming, which made the atmosphere pleasant from the start. I understand that sometimes things can get busy in the restaurant, and I want to acknowledge the effort your team puts into providing good service.

However, I noticed a few areas where the experience could be improved. Although the restaurant was only about one-third full, I found it challenging to place my order, and the wait time for my food was longer than expected. I ordered fresh fish with fries and spent a considerable amount of time waiting with just my glass of white wine, without being served any bread. After 25 minutes, there was still no bread, olive oil, or butter. When my meal finally arrived after about 40 minutes, the bread was served alongside the fish. While the fish was good, I felt it could have been seasoned a bit more, and the fries were not as crispy or well-cooked as I had hoped.

In terms of ambiance, I found your restaurant comfortable, but I feel the Blue Swan offers a more authentic Greek atmosphere and a better view. To further enhance the dining experience, I suggest perhaps adding more variety of fish to the menu.

In summary, the main areas for improvement are service speed and food preparation. Overall, I would rate my experience a 3 out of 5. I could not imagine a better name for this place. "Small Paradise" is what you get there. The ambient is fantastic, not to mention the real nice and guest-orientated service from Irini and Maria. The food is like heaven on earth. The variety ranges from real traditional greek/karpathian meaty or Sea-Food to vegetarian options. Everything looks, smells and tastes amazing. While enjoying the terrace under some wine-plants and shadowgiving trees, in the background there is some nice traditional music playing, which even enhances the greek experience. It is a place to relax, enjoying wine (or beer of course), eating great food and having a rest from a sunny day at the beach!
