Meltemi Studios — Hotel in Municipality of Kasos

The pros The rooms are situated in a fabulous location with probably one of the best views in the island. Quiet, spacious for 2 people. 5 minutes by car to the port Fri and the islands best beach Emporios. You could even walk 10 minutes down hill to Emporios. There is available parking even outside your room which is very convenient for luggage. Kyria Anna, the owner is kind and willing to help. The sheets and towels seemed and felt clean. The property is pet friendly as they allowed our labrador dog to stay with us.

The cons The property is old fashion, 80s style The amenities, like fossets, fridge and stove, are all rusted and give a sense of dirtiness. The shower is extremely small and an adult can hardly fit for a proper shower. The road that leads to the property is half way a rocky road (August 2023 that we visited)

Overall this was a bad choise for my family, not only becauae of the cons mentioned above, but because additionally: We arrived at 11am and one of the 2 rooms we booked was finally available to us at 5pm. There was no clear check in/out time and rhe previous residents kept it till late that day In the afternoon I noticed a lot of ants in the sink which I got rid of by throwing some water. During the night the ants were all over our bed! As a comsequense I stayed awake that night. I told Kyria Anna in the morning and she put some sort of pesticide around the bed. When we came back from the day at the beach we realised that one of the rooms was not cleaned out. The owner thought we left the dog in, but she didnt bother to call us and check if this was the case. Btw we never leave her alone.

I can't tell enough good things about Meltemi Studios, from beginning till the end, all was perfect and actually much more than we expected. The studios are really lovely, very spacious and new, well kept, everything is placed well thought out and the views from the rooms are absolutely amazing, we sometimes couldn't wait to come home to enjoy our balcony :). Location is great, short walk to the beach and town. Owners are really lovely, they came to pick us up and drop us off from the port. The breakfast items are a nice touch and added value. If I really tried to find something that is not excellent would be that they do not have internet in the room (but with data plan on our phone we managed) and that sometimes it is a bit windy, as the studios are on a small cliff so the wind always blows, hence the name - Meltemi :) We loved our stay and when we return to Kasos we would definitely...
