When we first arrived in Kimolos due to ferry delays and other unfortunate incidents i Have to admit we didn't have the best mood. After staying for one night in Kimolia Gi this changed completely. Kimolia Gi, is situated near the beach Prassa, the best beach of the island- a 15 minute drive from the Port and the town, which makes the place really quite and ideal if you want to relax. Our apartment had a large balcony with direst sea view, it was on the ground floor, quite big, with very clean and modern shower, large and comfy bed and tastefully decorated. It is a family owned property and it seems they really care to make their guests have a good time! The breakfast is home cooked with local ingredients (never miss) and the common space very original and relaxing! The nearby beach although has very clean and beautiful waters may be a bit unfriendly to visit, so chose without second thought Prassa which is 300m further and you will understand why everybody is praising the cycladitic sea! Overall it is a bit pricy but as we found out from friends , good rooms to-let and boutique hotels on the island can be even more expensive so I guess we had a good value for money deal! Very kind people, very good food and a setting that will immediately relax you and make you feel you are in a small...
Read moreThe room that we stayed was not close to the main hotel. It was obviously a house that that had leased from an owner and they were straggling to make some money. They did not offer even a bottle of water upon arrival (everything they had in the refrigerator was with a price!). They did not offer cleaning every day in a room for 4 persons! They claim it was in their site, but it was not mentioned in their offer. We could not believe that 4 persons would stay in a room without any cleaning for 3 days during summer. The toilet bin was the smallest one from IKEA that could barely fit the toilet paper of 1 day. The toilet cleaner was broken, therefore we could not use it. In the kitchen, we were throwing fruits in the bin, and the trash was smelling since it was summer. The room also did not have any cleaning equipment and it was only brought to us after we asked. Apart from the double bed, the kids had to sleep on an IKEA sofa bed... Having travelled to most of the Cyclades islands, this was by far the least value for money that I have...
Read moreThe studios are quite nice. On a nice location in the nature and close to a nice beach. However, they are 10-15' away from the island capital (driving). The rooms are very clean, but could benefit from a renovation soon (they seem to be 10-15 years old). ||Be careful of the owners!!||a) there is a direct ship to Kimolos only some days during the week. The owners recommended that we take the ship to Milos (goes there daily) and then take the ferry boat from there to Milos. They do the same recommendation to everyone. However, they avoided telling us that if it is very windy the ferry boat doesnt sail or even if not very windy, you have to wait for houuurs to take the ferry boat. ||b) they have goats in the area around the hotel. We asked them if we can buy some fresh goat milk for our baby. They said is ok and will give it us at no cost. They indeed gave us the milk... but it proved to be cow milk from the super market.||Very dissapointed from this behaviour....
