I wrote a review once already but was shouted at to take it down, so I’ll change it slightly to The male owner, who can be identified by the older male who paces around the place shouting at staff on a morning, was very passive aggressive towards me on several occasions, I took this with homophobic intent, regardless of how he might feel he can justify it as otherwise.
I went out as a young Single male to an all inclusive holiday there. On one night the manager approached me and told me I’m too much. I thought he was referring to me being loud around the bar area with friends I had made at the hotel. I brushed this off, He then Mumbles something referring to me being gay. I got very upset and uncomfortable and left the hotel very upset and spent the rest of the evening away from the hotel in the town centre. He’s then singled me out on several other occasions when we have all been together as a group referring to noise again, ‘especially you’ being rather rude towards me in a whole group situation. When the other guests made him aware it was them making more noise he refused to listen and told them it was especially me. I left the hotel during the day for most of my stay because of this. Spending money I didn’t need to but was uncomfortable staying there all day. On one of those days, he approached the group I usually sat with and quite astonishingly said to other groups of people “isn’t it quieter now because I went out for the day”
He’s then come back out and said in front of the group ‘you too much, go, goodnight’ on a separate ocassion, when I’ve looked at him he’s said once again ‘goodnight’ directing me to my room like a child.
I stupidly left my review the day before leaving when I got the email to do so about the hotel saying how I felt and that it had an homophobic tone to the nature of my situation. I’m not one to label things and give anyone the benefit of the doubt but it was clear after 3 days of this that I couldn’t label it anything over than what it was.
Hes then approached me rather aggressively the day before I left, around the busy pool area shouting aggressively at me about the my review. Demanding I tell him what my problem is with him, he said he’s not homophobic he had a gay friend and then said I’m homophobic. Again demanding I take down the review. This made me extremely distressed and uncomfortable. After I had left the hotel for the day, to get away from this. He went on to Corner other guests I have been spending time with at the hotel, twice about me in that day telling them to tell me to take my review down, and trying to explain how he wasn’t happy. When they had my back and explained he had been singling me out, he began shouting at them.
On top of this, the food was basic and the same most days, I strongly believe that some food for lunch some days were left over from night before. Not much choice at all, there was never any snacks provided during the day out of these times unless you paid for them at their ‘shop’. Basic things as water was denied to me on an evening when I would go to the shop as they were ‘closed’.
No entertainment was provided on an evening, so even if I did go back to the hotel, it was just down to us to have a laugh together as a group around the bar which then caused me more problems with the manager.
The bar they provided closed at 10:30pm some nights and we were told to be quiet after this time. Coming to my room, it had ants all over, bugs in the bathroom and on the floor. I found a lizard crawling around eating the bugs one night. I’m very shocked how this hotel is 4 star rated, and charges taxes on this 4 stars when it very clearly isn’t.
My main problem is how uncomfortable, upset, distressed and alarmed this hotel owner made me feel on my first holiday abroad. As a single, young gay man this has ruined my confidence and I’ve spent most of my trip out of the all inclusive hotel because of this one man and his ignorance. AVOID AVOID AVOID - Especially if...

This was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. We booked expecting 4-star quality and instead found dirt, rudeness, false advertising, and shocking cost-cutting.
Staff & service The male owner seemed polite, but we had heard he can be short-tempered with others. The female receptionist (the large woman at the front desk) was incredibly rude, abrupt, and cold. At check-out she didn’t even ask about our stay – zero care for guests. The only good staff member was a young girl working evenings, who was genuinely kind and helpful. The night staff were also awful – at 11 PM on the dot they turn off every light, leaving you in candlelight, even in the toilets where the lights don’t work because they’ve been switched off to save money. If you arrive late, the night porter won’t check you in properly and just tells you to “do it tomorrow” – no politeness or professionalism.
Rooms & basics Rooms have no basics: no kettle, no cups, no hairdryer unless you rent one, and Wi-Fi only works in the lobby unless you pay extra. Towels weren’t changed daily and bedding wasn’t cleaned every day. For a place charging a €100 tourist tax and calling itself 4-star, this is a joke.
Cleanliness & hygiene The pool water was a weird light green colour, salty, and looked unsafe to swim in. The smell of sewage around the hotel was horrible. Plates at meals were dirty, and general upkeep was poor.
Food & drink Food was bland, repetitive, and very limited. We didn’t go hungry, but it was basic. The drinks situation was worse: no Coca-Cola, only “Rola Cola” if you’re lucky, no apple juice, and most days the only option was lemonade. Fruit selection? Watermelon, every single day, and nothing else.
Facilities & false advertising The biggest scam is the so-called “spa.” It simply doesn’t exist. There is no spa anywhere in the hotel – instead, they’ve put two ragged old massage chairs in a corner and advertise them as a spa. This is outright lying to guests to make the hotel sound better than it is. Entertainment is also pathetic: just one night a week (Thursday), when the owner sings himself. Poolside is lifeless – no music, except sometimes for 10 minutes before it’s switched off again.
Safety issues The rental bikes are unsafe – brakes barely worked, lights didn’t function, and we were left cycling back in the dark. When we raised it, staff brushed it off and gave no real refund. It was dangerous and irresponsible.
Disturbing details There were Nazi magazines lying around the hotel. Completely inappropriate and offensive.
Location The location is awful: a 50-minute walk to the centre or €10 each way by taxi. You’re better off staying closer to town in a hotel that actually offers what it advertises.
Final thoughts This hotel is dirty, cheap, and dishonest. From turning off lights at 11 PM and leaving guests in the dark, to a disgusting pool, sewage smells, poor food, unsafe bikes, and rude staff (especially the woman at the desk who couldn’t care less about guests), it’s clear this place is a complete money-grab. The “spa” is fake, the entertainment is a joke, and the customer service is non-existent.
Do not book here. It is not 4-star, it’s a scam and a dump. Even if it were free, I would...
Read moreI thoroughly enjoyed my time in Kos, I would recomend it to anyone looking for a cheap holiday in the sun. My stay at Evripedies was plesant. The setting is gorgerous, with the mountains and the sea front. However there are some things you should be aware of. Compared to other all inclusive hotels I have stayed in, the food at Evripedies is limited and the same most nights. My stay was only for a week so maybe they do change it up a bit from week to week. They did offer some traditional Greek dishes, such as Mousacca, and some more standard stuff, such as spaghetti Bolognese, for the less adventurous. The food limmitations weren't a particular problem as there are loads of very nice restaurants in the town of Kardamena (a 20 - 30 minute walk from the hotel or 9€ taxi drive), Alexander restaurant was one of our favourites. The other disappointing thing about Evripedies was the bar. There were very limited drinks, but for the price paid I think this was expected. Saying this, there are plenty of bars in Kardamena to make up for it, including Malibu Beach Bar and Atlantis Bar on the way to Kardamena which both serve very good cocktails for around 6€ each! The staff at Evripedies were friendly and helpful, they even helped us to find a taxi to Kardamena at 3am- most bars in Kardamena are open until 6am. There is also a shop in the hotel which has everything you could need, including very cheap cigarettes! There is also a supermarket in Kardamena and another shop very near the hotel, so I would say the hotel is well situated. The hotel beach is nice, although we didn't really use it. The hotel pool was very nice too, subsequently most of our time spent in the hotel was by the poolside. The hotel is generally very clean and the rooms are cleaned everyday. The fridges in the rooms however are always empty unless you fill them yourselves! The room TVs work well and all rooms have air conditioning. It is slightly alarming that there seem to be no fire/smoke alarms, and people just smoke indoors. I think this is quite common in Greece though. All in all our stay at Evripedies was great. A better food and drink choice would have been nice though. There was also no animation team so the hotel can be quite boring. All I'll say is make sure you go and visit places around the island and do stuff to keep occupied! The hotel can get you on boat trips and stuff. Quad bikes can be hired for quite cheap (30€ for 1 day hire, 9am-7pm) in Kardamena. We drove them to paradise beach which was lots of fun. Also there is a tortoise enclosure in the hotel!!! I think that's all I have to say. Hope...
