Cons: - cold food, the food is literally cold, not even warm, in many all inclusives the food can tend to be on the cool side, but this was actually cold. To add to this, the variation was extremely poor, with the same dishes being served daily. I dont eat meat, only fish, so its often a struggle but most hotels do serve at least one type of fish, yet this one didn't most days. Which is surprising for greece. Many guests we spoke to actually went to the town (30 min walk to the right as you face the sea) and paid to eat there. The restaurant staff said they get many customers from our hotel. - very poor wifi signal, we got moved due to a grid leaking and the wifi was poor in both rooms - staff unhelpful and unfriendly, upon making a complaint that my room was flooded - quite a concern, i was told the manager was "buisy" and to sort it out with the tui rep. Unacceptable. - baths in the rooms yet no plugs, asked at reception and was told they dont have them as its an eco hotel, which brings me to my second point; - Eggs from caged hens (we checked the number & asked chef), i find unnecessary animal cruelty unacceptable in this day and age, but this hotel supports it, surprisingly for an "eco hotel" they are using one of the most devastating practices for the environment and human health- factory farming. - Paper thin walls, ive never been to a hotel with walls so thin. And ive been to plenty of hotels, 3-5 star, ive never been able to hear someone turning a light switch on in the next room. If you make the mistake of booking here bring ear plugs! - There is a games room, with a few decent games, the pool tables (billiards) and cues were well maintained to their credit (but 2 euro per game!), perhaps this should be in the pros section, but they wont change notes for coins, meaning if you dont have change, you cant play... - grid flooded in my room leaving bits (or sewage) all over the floor - to the hotels credit they acted fast and sent someone to fix it and then a cleaner within the hour. - speaking of the rooms, there was a cockroach in one of our partys rooms and a spider in the other (see pic), my room floor was COVERED in hairs upon entering, im a bald chap unfortunately, so it certainly wasnt me. Not too much if an issue but its evidence of poor cleaning. The towels had small brown/orange marks scattered across them, im presuming and hoping this is just rust from the machine or dryer as opposed to poor washing. Pros - I found the entertainment to be good, since the cocktails were ghastly (beer was ok) i decided to drink tea of an evening, another point in the hotels favour as they had it available with a good selection. - the grounds are lovely (as are the cats), although they are very poorly maintained, with the absence of a gardener/groundskeeper - and it shows. - if you get the right room, its a beautiful view to the sea, only 2 mins away from the hotel. - benches with a lovely sea view, and a brilliant location for the sunset. - close to the beach, and no charge for loungers. In summary, i think this is a lovely hotel that is EXTREMELY poorly managed. This place could be a 4 star, yet nobody here would ever say it was. Im not just one moaning customer, speaking to other guests they all agree its probably not even a 3 star. Id certainly agree, its like the management have decided to cut all expenses - buy the cheapest cocktail ingredients, cheapest food, reduce staff numbers, get rid of the grounds keepers, reduce cleaning staff etc.

Due to a variety of trifles and sloppiness, with a lot of good will, I can only give 3 stars. Okay for a week beach holiday, but no recommendation. We got a renovated, clean, quiet room with a sea view (as booked). The hotel staff was more distantly friendly than cordial, we know that differently from Greece. The food was good but nothing special and not varied. The beach is nice, the hotel gardens are spacious and beautiful. The bar area is also good and spacy. My big criticism is for the main restaurant, which is very much of a canteen. It is loud and the facility is completely carelessly designed and old. Much of the noise in the restaurant is caused by staff throwing cutlery and crockery while clearing away. Most of the drinking glasses are usually not properly washed and are dirty at the buffet. Unfortunately, there are far too few seats on the restaurant terrace, and it is not smoke-free either (a no-go in 2022). The Asian dinner in the theme restaurant was cheeky: Among other things, there were potatoes, fish fingers and ice-cold broccoli. Except for the ready-made spring rolls, nothing was Asian. There wasn't even a sweet and sour sauce. Since the beach chairs and umbrellas are chargeable, the condition is not appropriate. In my opinion, the clerk's chaotic camp at the beginning of the beach doesn't belong there as well as the scrap yard (old umbrellas) at the end. The cleaning of the beach could be done with more passion. The hotel also uses disposable paper cups with plastic components at the pool and beach bar instead of reusable cups. The WiFi around the restaurant almost never works/is unstable. On a somewhat remote part of the complex (on the entrance side of our room, land side) the hotel obviously dumped garbage. With a little more passion and small improvements, a lot could be achieved. Overall, the quality does not correspond to a 4 star hotel. Our stay was end of September/beginning of October, 2022.

Firstly, the positives: great location right on the beach, but the pitches on the beach are quite small. Car park on site. Nice staff. And a village atmosphere. This also makes it a bit spacious, but great for anyone who wants to collect steps. Great sunsets can be watched directly from the benches set up by the hotel. Sufficiently large pool for anyone looking for refreshment, relatively full depending on the time of day. Now the "negative": No air conditioning in the lobby. The all inclusive programme is just okay, but not really great. The cups are usually super small and you are not allowed to fill anything - not even water! So you're more or less reliant on buying water for your room in the expensive supermarket opposite. Soft drinks based on syrup. The beer is okay. The food is okay but not very varied and not really anything particularly culinary. It's also usually very warm in the restaurant during meals because the air conditioning somehow can't cope. The food already gives the impression of mass processing and is not very atmospheric. No food available between 14:30 and 18:30 despite All Inclusive except maybe a few dry cakes at the pool bar. The gym is relatively well equipped, but is clearly getting on in years and is not air-conditioned. You are not supposed to use towels from your room, but there are none on site. No water dispenser in the gym. However, sufficient weights are available. In short: It's okay, but you shouldn't have too high expectations.

I stayed in the room 352 from 1st of October and it was lovely: ||1) LOCATION – on the ground floor second row from the beach with incredible sea views, clean, light and airy accommodation. ||2) PRIVACY – away from the swimming pool and evening entertainment so it was nice and quiet, calming ecru net curtains and blackout curtains, walled patio at the entrance with the table, two chairs and an extendable drier for beach towels/ swimwear. You can sit there for ages with your cup of tea or something stronger, read your book, enjoy good conversation with breathtaking sea views, listen to whisper of sea waves and songs of crickets (in the night). ||3) PROTECTION FROM INSECTS – I did not see any insects throughout my stay, but all windows have special nets fitted from the outside so you can open your windows with no worries to fill the room with a breeze of fresh sea air. ||4) ROOM QUALITY- card key is very convenient, floor is environmentally friendly and easy to clean, beautifully renovated spacious room with sleek eco design, spotless clean luxurious white bedding and bath towels, kettle, good tv (never used though), phone to connect with the reception, nice big wardrobe with sliding doors, hangers and build in electronic combination safe. The bathroom is modern and beautiful with all expected equipment, a very good powerful shower and hot water always available. Exceptional quality full size “Pandrosia “shower gel and hand wash provided (from local Pandrosia Aloe Vera Farm that specializes in growing aloe vera for producing own aloe vera based organic hair and body care). ||5) ROOM SERVICE – spot on every other day, never missed, Cleaning Ladies are very polite and doing great job , bedding and bath towels changed every other day during cleaning, beach towels changed once a week, which is reasonable ( but it possible to request it earlier if needed). Regarding bins in the bathroom and in the room – they are emptied every other day when the room is cleaned. On two occasions I needed more bin space, so I simply changed bin liner myself, but in normal circumstances bins and bin liners are deep enough and have good capacity to last between cleanings. You cannot flush toilet paper down the toilet in Greece, but there was a simple solution – I brought with me some grip &zip sanitary plastic bags to keep my bathroom fresh. ||6) STAFF – everyone I came across was lovely and friendly, always saying hello, always smiling, doing their job properly, respecting your privacy and always there for you if needed. At the end of my stay, while on the day trip, I had an accident, and staff went beyond and above to help and comfort me. For example, I needed to extend my stay, and The Reception Team reserved the same room for me and arranged free of charge day use of the room on the day of the departure , so I can stay in the room till taxi arrive ; provided extra pillows for back support; someone from staff every day visited me to make sure I am alright and asked if I need anything, or anything could be brought for me from the restaurant to eat. Cleaning Lady Amie every time when made the bed arranged pillows to provide back support, as I asked her, which was so kind. ||THANK YOU SO MUCH TO THE STAFF OF THE RESORT FOR THEIR COMPASSION AND HELP! ||7) BEACH – beach is a very special gem, sandy, unspoiled and naturally beautiful, you can completely immerse yourself there in nature and absorb the surroundings with all your senses. I used to go on the beach earlier in the morning for a walk before breakfast and always seen at that time lovely friendly man cleaning the beach. Beach is clean; crystal-clear water has all spectrum of emerald, turquoise and blue hues which display spectacular color play throughout the day, plenty of sun beds with umbrellas available free of charge throughout the day. The seabed on the left side of the beach is mostly sandy and child friendly for swimming, but there are some small rocky areas too; the right side of the beach is sandy, but the seabed is rocky. Every part of the beach has his own charm, You just pick up spot that suits you, as there is lots of space for everyone, and it never felt overcrowded, maybe because resort has a huge, beautiful swimming pool with children's pool too, it is next to the bar and restaurant with lots of music and happy vibes through the day. I would say that Eurovillage Achilleas Resort has something for everyone, and you can always find a happy place. There is some seaweed on the beach but not a big deal; it is only next to the rocks. Ultimately, it is a natural element of the marine environment and acts as a natural protectant from beach erosion, and seaweed also stores carbon dioxide, so it fights against climate change and works hard for all of us. ||8) ALL INCLUSIVE MEAL PLAN – it is worth it, it was convenient, it was tasty, good varieties, it was plentiful, I enjoyed every meal and never got hungry or thirsty. ||Alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks and ice cream throughout the day are unlimited. Good selection of continental options for breakfast, testy Greek dishes prepared using locally sourced ingrediencies, lots of good quality fresh vegetables and fruits, local specialties such as traditional Greek yogurt, Kos honey, local feta, mizithra, krasotyri, olives, all sorts of spoon sweets, dried fruits, local sweets and pastries. Additionally, at breakfast, eggs, bacon and pancakes are cooked in front of you as you wish. Additionally, to the selection of dishes on the trays, at lunchtime and dinner meat and/or fish cooked in front of you. The dining room is clean and well organized with the exceptional service: clean white linen tablecloth changed for every new party at the table, empty plates picked as soon as you finished off your food and put them aside. It is very good hygiene practice, and if guests want to get some more food, they just pick up a new plate. The dining room staff was very friendly and welcoming; there was always one person at the front door of the dining room to greet guests. As I observe, everyone enjoyed their food, drink and hospitality. At lunch time at the pool bar, you can also have yummy gyros and hot dogs prepared in front of you by lovely Lady with real Greek personality and great passion for making tasty gyros. I really enjoyed it. Thank you. ||9) RESORT OVERALL – it is so beautiful, it has amazing extended grounds, I would rather call it a tropical garden. Grounds are well maintained, filled with all sorts of exotic flowers, bushes, herbs, olive trees, palms, pomegranate trees, lemon and orange trees. It was such a pleasure to walk around this delightful resort. The resort has only two-story buildings, which makes it very cozy and welcoming. You can walk to the heart of the village of Mastichari from the resort along the beach in twenty min. following a comfortable tarmac path. Mastichari is a laid-back fishing village famous for its sea front fish tavernas, late-night bars and watersport. Prices in tavernas are reasonable, and food and drink are exceptional. If you want to explore Kos, it is easy to hire a car right in the hotel - there is a representative at the main reception to assist you. You can buy a return bus ticket to Kos town for 10 euros from the representative at the main reception. It must be done in the evening before you want to go to Kos. There is also a bus run to Lido Water Park from the main entrance. ||10) CONCLUSION – I had a great holiday and am looking forward to...
