I’m debating where to start and where to end. A wonderful and relaxing resort to get away from the everyday. What makes this place stand out from many others is the warmth and welcoming of the staff who are truly at the heart of Mitsis. The rooms were clean and our housekeeper, Alma, would take great care in tidying and providing fresh towels; she also created a flower arrangement on my sister’s birthday which was incredibly sweet. There are several pools to dive into; they aren’t heated so it can feel a little cold at first but the weather at the time was hot and we warmed up eventually. I did, at times, find myself reduced to petty antics of having to step out earlier than desired to reserve a sun-bed. I definitely think it’s reasonable for the hotel staff to remove towels from unused sun-beds and encourage it going forward; there were a few days where it was hard to find a space and we ended up sitting behind rows of empty beds. For the most part, we did manage to find spaces not too far from our accommodation but do watch out for the surge of white grannies who didn’t hesitate to throw people’s stuff off beds. I found this to be the case when I walked to the bar to get a drink and came back to find our stuff scattered. I would say most people were reasonable regarding others’ property but I suppose when you have a few years left to live, you just stop caring. The entertainment was great. We never did manage to get a seat for any shows even though we were there for 10 days. They seemed to have a lot of entertainment on for kids and the resort was a mix of family friendly vibes and honeymooning couples. The restaurants were fantastic. Super accommodating chefs and brilliant staff. Klevisa was one of many hosts that really went above and beyond to make each evening a special one. The food was great in all restaurants. The Mexican a la carte absolutely stole the show for starters. I do wish there were cocktails available at the restaurants. I found myself very sleepy after a few rounds of wine each dinner and it’s understandably not possible to have a full-fledged bar menu at all the a la cartes. However, I do think they could get away with having one signature cocktail on the menu for each spot - just something to add some variance to each dinner. The spa at the hotel was absolutely luxurious and the lymphatic massage was a real treat. I do wish someone mentioned that we also had access to the spa pool which we would have made use of if we were made aware beforehand. One of the highlights of our visit was the little food joints. The sweet corner was packed at all times and at night, Panos would make us fresh waffles at night which we would devour while watching movies in our room. I think the queues could have been split up a bit better to speed things up, maybe separate lines for waffles and crepes? If someone left me behind at the gyros food truck and I missed my flight, I’d honestly be the happiest person alive. I was there pretty much every day. A chicken gyros with tzatziki in one hand and in the other, the exact same thing because I just couldn’t get enough. The staff at the food truck were super helpful and I applaud their patience for dealing with the angry vegan who kept badgering them about whether the mayonnaise was vegan. I think the beach water washed away her ability to read because it was clearly stated on the menu that it was, in fact, not vegan. The bar staff kept the vibe alive after the entertainment concluded. The drinks were well made and balanced. The pool bar was much more enjoyable than the main bar which was slow and table service only. I found myself having drinks at the pool bar or making my way up to the bar between the reception and dining area on most nights. If you like fruity cocktails, I very much recommend the Amanda (and the Woo Woos - I had a lot of those). I have so much more to say and all great things but I was going more for a review and less for a bedtime story so I will conclude here.

Absolutely idyllic 5* pristine spa resort with great service and a true all inclusive experience from the moment you arrive to departure even after checkout, you can stay and use the facilities and eat meals which was handy for our evening flight. We had a maisonette, around 60m which was incredibly spacious, set over 2 floors with a mezzanine ensuite bedroom and downstairs living room with 2 additional beds and bathroom. There are different rooms for your requirements from 200 sq ft rooms, family rooms with hot tubs, villas, rooms with private swim up pool area, rooms with semi private pools, garden view bungalows and good accessibility, sea view villas and rooms. Some are set up stairs so if you need accessibility and can't manage stairs opt for a bungalow. Although we learned that there were 500 rooms, the resort was far from overcrowded (we went in October) and we never waited that long if ever for drinks or food. The staff were incredibly good. Spa: Adult only, amazing treatment s and heated indoor pool, sauna and steam free to use with treatment or €25 per hour. Opt for a spa programme for pampering. Specialised massages also available. Bars: Vlad,Romina and Theodora on the Pool bar were exceptional, with perfect coffees and mocktails every time. They had so much energy and made my favourite pink lemonades on tap. Pool bar is new this year situated in the middle of the resort. Night bar which hosts live music each evening situated by reception. Another bar before you go to the main buffet restaurant where you can get your mocktails and cocktails for dinner, they don't offer them at the buffet. You can get soft drinks, wine and beer and non alcoholic beer at all restaurants but not cocktails or mocktails so take them with you! Beach bar that does hot and cold drinks. Restaurants: There are 8 in total. Main restaurant is by reception, no booking required, just show up and eat. Plenty of tables and space. If you are a large group, let reception know beforehand to book tables. The rest of the restaurants are a la carte which you can only book once each during your stay. I recommend doing this in advance and the easiest option is via the Mitsis app. Otherwise contact concierge on arrival and see what slots are available. Greek destination and brunch in the same building in the middle. The brunch was outstanding work our waiters Aris and Nikos who were outstanding even working on their birthday. The chefs in the brunch were incredible, highly recommend. South American destination: this was the outstanding restaurant with incredible dishes. The sushi platters, starters and Peruvian style cuisine was delicious. At the foot of the resort before the beach are the remaining 4 a la carte restaurants, Italian (lunch and dinner) Ellinadiko (Greek), Tex Mex and Pan Asian. The weakest was the Pan Asian which took us a long time to order and get food although we saw other tables get served quickly so we were unlucky. Exceptional dishes were Roast Lamb (Ellinadiko), Beef chimichanga (Tex Mex starter), Tagliata (Beef at the Italian) and Tempura prawns (Pan Asian starter) 3 snack bars near the Pool bar, Sweet treats that does the best crepes (Panos is the best crepe chef!) ice cream, cakes and snack bars. American street food which does salads, burgers, hot dogs, fries and tacos. The vegan and vitamin bar has smoothies and healthy salad boxes available until 3pm. There is also another Greek snack bar on the beach, that serves Souvlaki and fries. The Blonde lady server is amazing. Private beach had plenty of sunbeds and incredible snorkeling even in the shallow water there were dozens of blue silver mid size fish around us. My husband also saw an octopus further out. Watersports available at additional cost, you can book at the beach shack, paragliding, banana boats, jet skis. Easy holiday, great staff, great food, spacious pristine resort. Bring a jumper /jacket for the windy evenings as it can get mountainous island breezes!

This review is based on my experience as a solo traveler to share with other solo travelers and solo vacationers. I’ve stayed at a few other Mitsis hotels throughout Greece and I have to say, this one was the least solo friendly hotel that I’ve stayed in. Pros: Service was outstanding, from room stewards to service staff at the restaurants and bars. Yurina and Angela at the Pool Bar, Leonidas and Alex at the Beach Bar, excellent. They were constantly busy but their level of hospitality never changed. Anna at the Concierge was also incredibly helpful and kind, going above and beyond to find activities for me to do. The resort was so beautiful, day and night. But at night it was especially breathtaking. A camera would never be able to capture the true beauty of Blue Domes. The grounds were always so well maintained. The a La carte restaurants were all delicious. The South American and A La carte Brunch were two of my favorites. The buffet featured the same food every day and was not of the best quality. But it could have been worse. Cons: Entertainment. As a solo traveler, it is crucial to me that the hotel that I stay in has more to offer than food and drink. This hotel has nightly entertainment which was good, but this was the only true offering at the hotel besides the theater shows which ran at the same time so you couldn’t truly enjoy both. There was a club on the outside grounds of the hotel but not a lot of people visited there so the ambiance was not fun. Excursions/Activities: Again as a solo traveler, I really enjoy sightseeing and exploring outside of the hotel but I found that this was rather difficult in this part of Kos as the main port of Kos was about 90 minutes from the hotel and many of the better excursions offered through the hotel were from or near this port. I explored the town outside of the hotel and was able to visit a few different islands from the port in town there, but the experience was limited. Because of the lack of activities and nearby excursions through the hotel, all there was to do was stay within the hotel and due to a lack of activities at the hotel itself, I found myself bored often. Lounging by the pool, the beach or eating and drinking were all that you could do and I like a little more variety as a solo traveler and expected more from a Mitsis hotel. The other Mitsis resorts I’ve visited have offered poolside djs (there was one at the beach but he only played edm and for about an hour - their guest services team didn’t even know there was a dj which I found odd as this is featured on their site), they have offered more adult entertainment like karaoke, wine tastings and classes, and daytime entertainment dedicated to Greek music and dancing. This Mitsis didn’t offer nearly as much to do. The couples, friend groups, and families that I met all had a wonderful time but as a solo vacationer, this Mitsis hotel I would not recommend.

Just come back from our 7th visit to the Blue Domes. Our 8th visit to the motsis hotels, having visited the Ailia 5 years ago.|Firstly, to us, its become a home from home. The staff recognise us and we are always treated very well from the time we arrive, to the time we depart.|The rooms are clean and comfortable, and yes, I agree, some rooms do need a little attention to detail, but I guess that is to be expected. We had a room upgrade when we arrived, which was very much appreciated. |The grounds are lovely and very well maintained. The only negative I found, is the rubbish from the grab and go area is allowed to blow around. Sadly people don't put rubbish in bins , and staff don't seem to clean the pool areas as well anymore. One pool was quite dirty but after mentioning it, it seemed to be sorted.|The buffet has never been great for me as alot of food is rich in sauce and heavy on meat, which is not for me. My family always enjoy it. There is always a lot of choice and cooked fresh. |The a al carte restaurants are lovely, and the menu has improved this year. The food is well served and you can order extra portions if you wish. The only place that let it down was the American. The steak was very fatty and undercooked. The cat enjoyed it. It's never been a favourite of mine. At least the food was warm this year. My favourite is the Asian for another year running. I did notice that you no longer get a little appetiser or drink anymore whilst you wait for your food. If you didn't know, then you would not notice.|The staff overall are lovely, with a few letting the side down. Manners are the same in every language!! In the destination greek, one waiter was particularly rude. He took orders for food that never came, same with drinks. Very odd!!|The bars are all lovely, it's just a shame the beach bat closes at night now at the end of the summer. For us, we used to enjoy going there after a meal. The middle pool bar us lovely, but you can never get a seat, as early diners stay there after their meal. We have never had a problem with any of the drinks, and personally, we are not concerned if spirits are branded or not. They are so strong, it's not a problem. We never had flat fizzy drinks during our stay.|Big shout outs to Yanis and the lovely lady who greet you at the main restaurant (apologies, I can't remember her name still) It is lovely to see them still there.|Big shout out to Jimmy at the bar. Every morning our ice coffees would be waiting for us when we got back from breakfast and he kept the drinks topped up all day.|Big shout out to Fatma at the main buffet breakfast . He would see us come in and have our tea and juice waiting for us on our table. He would not let us get up to get drinks, he would always be there with top ups. Again lovely to see him still there!!|Big shout out to reception, who are always helpful and nothing is too much trouble. There are a few having training, so not always knowledgeable, but will find out.|Massive shout out to Evaggelos, the rooms division manager. He is the most friendliest manager of them all, and to be honest, the only one that speaks to you. He is calming in a situation, and sorts any issues without stressing any guests out and causing disruption to their holiday.|We are a mentor/storyteller so wear a black band. I am not sure why, as it makes no difference to your stay. I would say it would be nice if managers said hello, especially if they see one of these bands, as you are clearly a repeat guest. They should acknowledge all guests, not around with heads down.|Yes, there was norovirus again in the hotel and my son and I got it again. I got it the day I was due to leave, so could not fly. Big shout out to all the staff who made it possible to stay in our room another day, and allow me to recover. They were very kind and made sure I was looked after. Room service was available and extra cleaning of the room. We did not thinking was fair for housekeeping to come in, but it was thoughtful. |Is it 5 star? It has gone down a little with each visit, but your overall experience is 5 star. Yes, things need addressing, some more than others. If you don't like one pool area, move to another. If there is a problem, report it. You don't have to wait in for maintenance to come. All staff are trustworthy. |Before I forget, big shout out to Carlos at the lobby bar. He is such a nice man, and extremely good at his job. He made the best black and white Russians!! He used to make me surprise cocktails too. Always had a drink made when we came into the bar.|Would we go back? Absolutely!! You have not got rid of us yet. Thank you all for a...

Bring a jumper /jacket for the windy evenings as it can get mountainous...
