Big shout out for our fantastic hotel here in Marmari, Kos. It’s adults only and so peaceful. It’s all about water here with a private beach and pools and water features across the whole site. At least half the rooms are swim up and I really would recommend paying a little extra for one of these. We are actually staying in an executive suite with a private pool which really is amazing but quite a bit more expensive - unless you are lucky enough to get upgraded.
The hotel itself is very relaxed with chilled beats quietly playing in the main reception areas and a feeling that you really are on holiday when you come here. There is so much space and mostly open areas which makes it feel very safe in the current circumstances.
Food is very good and there are two main restaurants and a pool bar where you can get lunch. The evening buffet style meal (this is a half board hotel) is served in the main restaurant equipped with cooking stations and the food is reasonably varied so you don’t have to eat the same thing every night. There is an a-la-carte restaurant too for which you are allowed one free meal per stay. We haven’t tried it yet but the menu looks pretty good. If you want to eat out sometimes the town is about 10 mins walk from the hotel, either via the quiet main road or along the beach. There are several tavernas along the main street which serve Greek and European dishes. We recommend Smiley’s which we found to have good food and friendly service.
Entertainment in the lobby bar is fairly good and low key enough to dip in and out of as you wish with various entertainers, singers and dancers.
The staff here are amazing, nothing is too much and they certainly make you feel important and special during your stay. Reception are very attentive and helpful and our room maid leaves us a towel ‘sculpture’ on the bed every morning (dog, elephant, & flower so far) - she is great and works very hard.
No problem with sun loungers either at the pool or on the beach. I don’t think the hotel is full at the moment but I think that even if it was there are plenty to go round. The sandy beach is also good, very quiet, and again the service is excellent with bar and food delivered to your loungers with a smile. One thing to note is that it is breezy and can be windy sometimes on this side of the island so the sea is mostly quite choppy. It doesn’t really impact beach sunbathing though and you don’t feel it at the hotel - just a gentle breeze by the pool which is great for keeping you cool.
I really recommend this hotel to any adult couple of all ages who are looking for a quiet, relaxed and stress free holiday where you can feel pampered and special. It is a premium hotel with a great deal of class and should be treated as such as it is, in our opinion, a cut above the other TUI Blue/Sensimar hotels we have stayed in over the...
Read moreArrived Aug 6th and currently half way through our stay. ||We were greeted by smiling staff at reception and front office manager Sevi. We were quickly checked-in and informed that we had been upgraded to an executive Suite with private pool. It’s not often I am speechless, but this was one of them. ||We were whisked off with our luggage via Golf Buggy to a beautifully laid out private villa, where we spend a very happy week. ||The Palazzo Del Mare combines luxury with comfort. The rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated, and offer views over the vast warm pool area ensuring a serene and rejuvenating stay. My advice, if your thinking of booking a room, stretch your budget a little and book a swim-up room, you’ll be blown away. ||The staff at Palazzo Del Mare served us with exceptional hospitality, providing attentive and personalised service that made us feel welcome and valued. The buffet restaurant is well stocked for all nationalities and features both local and international cuisine and has theme nights every night, from fresh made Pasta to steamed mussels. ||We toured the hotel to look at all types of rooms, and I must say that there isn’t a bad room at the hotel. All are well appointed and spacious.||No rush for loungers or early towel fights in the mornings as there are plenty available all times of day. Towels are changed daily. Rooms have hair dryers, safes, fridge, but no iron. (Bring your own portable iron)||We found the hotel has excellent facilities such as a well equipped fitness centre, spa, small shop, pool table, table tennis, ice cream parlour etc. ||The gardens around the hotel are beautifully manicured, which lead you down to the beach area 50m away which also offers additional loungers and a beach waiter.||Excellent entertainment throughout the day and evening, all shown via the Tui blue app. |Evening entertainment was some of the best we’ve seen for a while, with good content. It also nice to see guests making an effort in the evenings with decent clothing choices. No football shirts etc. ||Stand out waiter of the week is Mohammed. The guy has so much energy, is always smiling, and also takes great care in his appearance. We checked his shirt sleeve crease every day to make sure he ironed it properly with one crease, which he did. Please carry on checking this for me 😉.||All in all, a truly 5* star hotel worthy of its rating. I usually turn into a hotel inspector when visiting a new hotel for the first time. Sadly to say, I was redundant on this occasion as I couldn’t find fault. Thank you to everyone who works so incredibly hard at Pallazzo Del Mare. Be proud. We will be back…. Very soon… ||To Miss Sevi, “Thank you” for being so kind and attentive towards us. You make the hotel what it is. ||Notes:|Taxi from Airport €26|Taxi to Kos harbour...
Read moreFirst time at this hotel. When we were driven up to the hotel you are struck with how grand and beautiful it is and entering an oasis of calm. Indeed the week proves to be just that. Greeted by friendly staff who explained all the hotel had to offer. The welcome drink and cold towel were very refreshing after a long trip.
The grounds are lush and green and the pool is the best we've ever seen. It's huge, shallow and refreshingly cool but not too cold. The sun loungers are generously spaced out and there's always one free at whatever time of the day.
We had a pool view room with balcony. It's a large room and only niggle is it's single beds pushed together. Odd for an adults only hotel where surely most clients are couples. Tea and coffee supplies and replenished each day and also two bottles of water each day. Rooms well cleaned each day too.
Buffet breakfast and dinner is lovely restaurant setting. It's kind've indoor/outdoor so there's a nice breeze. The food is a great selection and it changes each night. You get one night at the culinanrium restaurant which is a la carte. It's four courses but each course quickly follows the previous. I would recommend the courses are staggered to enjoy the experience more and let food settle! PS- the fried manouri is cheese, we guessed it would fish, our fault I guess! Menu is cheese heavy but tastes good.
Hotel has a packed schedule of activities and entertainment. Our favourite was the rock band (George and band) and star gazing. Word to the wise, for the star gazing - which is excellent - please follow hotels advice and wear long sleeves and or mossie repellent as wifey got bitten useless. Also do the sunset evening but check the time as the sunset gets earlier each night (obviously!) and you don't want to miss it. Also - the half day excursion is well worth it, very informative and you see the top spots in the area. Also the trip finishes around 3pm so a generous half day! There is a small supermarket about 10/15mins away so easy to get all your water and snacks. To finish, all the staff really nice and helpful. We are already...
