Kythira Golden Resort — Hotel in Municipality of Kythira

I booked Kythira Golden Resort because I was leaving Kythira, but the ferry didn’t arrive due to bad weather. So I called this hotel to check if they had available rooms, and they were very responsive — they even came to pick me up from the port. They were so friendly and polite, even though it was really late. They gave me a room and were very flexible about my stay duration, since I was not sure when I would leave the island, and this is something I really appreciate.

The room they gave me was so nice — it was for 3–4 people, well equipped with a jacuzzi bath inside the bathroom, and had an amazing balcony with a view. I believe it was the best room in the whole resort with the best view. The room was well equipped, and they had a mini-bar full of many items, along with coffee, tea, water, and wine.

The breakfast was amazing, with a lot of varieties — I believe it is their speciality, because it was the first time I had seen items and combinations like that in a hotel. It was like a feast. I especially enjoyed having my breakfast by their beautiful swimming pool, which made the experience even more relaxing. The lady who served the breakfast was really nice, and I had a very pleasant conversation with her. She was always checking on me.

The hotel also has a very nice swimming pool, which is well maintained, and a well-equipped gym — both of which I really enjoyed using during my stay.

When it was time to leave the island, Mrs. Vasiliki even drove me to the port to catch my ferry at 2:30 a.m., which I really appreciated. Mrs. Vasiliki, I want to thank you a lot for everything and for your care — I will never forget this treatment and hope to meet again in better...

I stayed at Kythira Golden Resort (Diakofti Village, Kythira Island, Greece) for 4 nights in May 2023. The service was exceptional ! The family that runs this small boutique style hotel (which also has an elevator, something rare in the islands) is very, very customer focused. Customer service is OUTSTANDING ! Friendly, trustworthy, kind, and informative. Upon my arrival the owner who runs the hotel and who was behind the reception desk greeted me by name clearly expecting me. She registered me in and took me to my room. The room (Melia) was exactly as expected, 2nd floor, facing the sea and the sunrise every morning. The bed was comfortable for me (I like mattresses on the harder side); the bathroom was large, modern with plenty of amenities. Parking is good, just outside the door of the hotel. the pool was super clean, crustal clear....in fact the entire premises were spotless !! Buffet-style Breakfast was good, with plenty of variety focused on Greek cuisine but with also the standards like eggs, sausage, etc. Every time I went thru the lobby, I was greeted by name, provided any information I needed and wished a "great day" to explore the island. Take the Kythira Golden Resort map if you will be driving. It may look very basic, but it is accurate and will be of the utmost help to you. A Warm and Welcoming Stay

We had a wonderful stay at the Kythria Golden Resort Hotel in Diakofti. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. The hotel manager greeted us personally with a warm smile and a helpful map full of local tips, which made settling in so easy.

Everyone working at the hotel went out of their way to help nothing was ever too much trouble. There was a genuine kindness and thoughtfulness that made the whole experience feel really personal and relaxed. It honestly felt like a home away from home.

It was our first time visiting the island, but definitely not our last. The location is lovely, and what really stood out were the people, so friendly and sincere.
