Efstathia Hotel — Hotel in Municipality of Leros

Decent room rate for a hotel with pool in beautifully unspoilt Xirocampos in the south of Leros. Booked well before the covid pandemic began and even though I’d expected 50% of the charge for the room to be taken in advance of my stay, it wasn’t. Fortunately I was still able to travel and enjoy an island hopping trip in September.||||The rooms are studio like and the one I occupied had a fridge, hot plate, small selection of crockery and utensils. ||||Enough wardrobe space and two fairly generous single beds but with incredibly hard mattresses and fairly lumpy pillows - had worse elsewhere though!||||Good quiet air con and a large shower room with plenty of hot water. Clean enough.||||Large balcony overlooking the pool with chairs & table.||||It soon became clear that I was probably the only person staying at the hotel and that not only felt slightly weird, seeing all the shuttered rooms, but a little uncomfortable too. Not the fault of the hotel but it gave the place an almost run down feel, draining the pool on my last evening didn’t help either!||||Would I stay again? Possibly, but only if there were...

We had booked for one night at the very end of September, actually wanting to stay for 2 nights but not showing available during October. We arrived to a deserted hotel. All shutters were closed, the pool drained. We messaged via booking.com and rang the number provided on the booking site; no answer. |As we were earlier than the recommended 2pm check in we took ourselves off for a cool drink and returned. After waiting again at the accommodation and deciding our next steps a man turned up. He informed us that the hotel was closed and he hadn't been informed of our booking. However, he very kindly agreed to let us stay for 2 nights and showed us to a large, very clean room.|This contained a fridge and 2 glasses. No kettle or crockery, however we were so grateful to have somewhere to stay that we gladly accepted it. |Although the accommodation was lovely it felt a little eerie. Deathly quiet. However, we would stay again, probably a little earlier in the season, though we loved the peace and quiet...

We came to this hotel after our planned accommodation fell through.||I booked directly and for a reasonable price similar to booking sites.||The owner was happy to greet us and gave us the choice of an upstairs or downstairs room.||We chose up and were given a lovely large room with a good view of the surrounding mountains.||Everything was spotless and we couldn't have wished for a better room apart from it was just a room with a fridge and no other facilities such as kettle etc.||That was soon remedied when we asked for a kettle and the owner brought us cups, coffee, milk, pan and gas burner = problem solved!||We would happily stay...
