Franzis studios — Hotel in Municipality of Nisyros

Three single beds and one camp bed in the studio gave still enough room to move about. Hot water available at all times. Having been to Greek Islands many many times we are used to uncomfortable beds and poorly equipped kitchens but it is frustrating that you have to ask for the basics like cutlery, chopping board, bottle opener and washing up bowl. The hob controls were very temperamental and we had to disconnect from the wall to ensure it was switched off. We stayed for a week. No cleaning until the fourth day and seemed to be prompted by me hunting down a brush and mop and doing it myself. No further cleaning after that. We did the bins ourselves etc. If owners do not want to clean then they should provide brush and mop otherwise it becomes very unpleasant. |Wifi could not be accessed from our room, the weak signal was best accessed outside next to owner's door and then stopped completely for the final 2 days. Cafe Paralia on the beach has excellent wifi. |The location is great though. Bakery right next door. Good beach with shade from trees. Shallow calm waters good for young children. No cash point but there are 2 at the Port. |Good choice of tavernas in Pali offering typical Greek menus. Lovely friendly taverna staff contrasted with the distant and unsmiling (uncaring?) studio owners. |Seems to be only one taxi on the island and he was uncontactable (phone switched off) even though we could see his taxi parked up. Infrequent bus service is reliable and reasonably priced but awkward timings for certain things we...

Wir waren vom 6.9.-14.9.18 im Frantzis auf Nisyros. Was wir dort erlebt haben übertrifft alles, was man nach 40 Jahren Reiseerfahrung erleben kann. Bei der Ankunft keine Begrüßung, stattdessen mürrisches Seufzen als wir darauf bestanden unser gebuchtes Studio mit Balkon zu beziehen, anstatt eines angebotenen Studio im EG. So ging es die ganze Wo über, kein guten Morgen nichts.( wir wurden mit keinem Blick gewürdigt). Während unseres Aufenthaltes wurden einmal die Handtücher gewechselt, es wurde auch nie sauber gemacht bzw. raus gekehrt .Hätten wir gewusst wo ein Besen ist, hätten wir es selbst gemacht.|| Am Dienstag 11.9. dann der Oberhammer:|| Als wir gegen Mittag in unsere Unterkunft zurück kamen, lag der Hund der Vermieterin in unserem Bett !!! Er lies sich nicht stören, wir konnten ihn auch noch filmen. Auf unsere Reklamation hin, kam keine Entschuldigung sondern nur ein Gefasel von einer angeblichen Türschlossreparatur. An diesem Tag wurde nach Auffordern die Bettwäsche gewechselt. ( Soviel zu " Haustiere nicht erlaubt"). ||Krönung dann zum Abschluss bei der Bezahlung:||Unserer zweimaligen Aufforderung wurde nachgekommen, indem man uns zunächst den Betrag auf eine alte zerknüllte Papiertüte schrieb.||||Noch ein kleiner Tipp für Ruhesuchende:|||| Am 15.9. beginnt in Griechenland die Treibjagd d.h. 2 Tg. vorher reisen die Jäger mit ihren Jagdhunden an .Bei Frantzis war am 13.9. das komplette Ferienanwesen mit Jägern und Jagdhunden belegt. Nächtliches Hundegebelle mit eingeschlossen. ||||Das Frantzis liegt zentral mit Blick auf´s Meer. Um die Ecke ist gleich der nette Bäcker.||||Wir haben trotz allem einen wundervollen Urlaub erlebt, mit vielen Wanderungen quer durch die ganze traumhaft schöne Insel - und alleine schon wg. dem mystischen Vulkankrater dem man mit vollsten Respekt u. Ehrfurcht gegenüber tritt.||||Wir werden auf die Insel wieder kommen, aber zu Frantzis Studio in Paloi auf Nisyros kommen...

Studios whith more than average room space, and strong wifi. Very close to the beach of Pali village. Quiet location and with a nice view of the sea. It features a refrigerator , a kitchen a tv set.
