A wonderful and very special family restaurant. The Mom cooks the best home-made Greek food we know anywhere in Greece, from vegan and vegatarian delights, like artichokes in lemon sauce and wonderful fresh salads, to the best grilled meats, meat stews, and fabulous fresh fish. The desserts and traditional Greek sweets and baklava are also homemade and fabulous. Top that off with the best Greek coffee you will ever have in your life. Christina and her daughter sre the nicest people you will ever meet and are your hostesses. Drink a frosty glass of beer or enjoy a pitcher of the really good white, rose or red house wine and watch the yachts sail in. One of the best experiences on the island of Nisyros. We have been coming regularly for the past 24 years, and are so grateful, that the best things in life do not have to change. Please enjoy but also respect this tradition of quality and genuine hospitality and help keep it alive. Scott snd Dieter from Berlin, Germany Loyal...
Read moreAbsolutely fabulous! We stopped for coffee and were so impressed by the genuine Greek hospitality from Chrisanthi, that we returned later for lunch ... and what a delight. Although we absolutely loved Nisyros and Mandraki, we had been surprised by the lack of fresh seafood available. But at Aphrodite, we found fresh seafood in abundance and at very reasonable prices. The food is all homemade, (you must try the hummus made by Chrisanthi's mother - it's the best we have ever tasted), and the tuna and swordfish steaks were grilled to perfection! This is a place where you discover real Greece, fresh, home-cooked food prepared with love and served with a smile and good humour. Our only regret was that we discovered Aphrodite on our last day because otherwise we have made the drive to Pali everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Thank you to Chrisanthi, Mum and the remainder of the team, you deserve every success for your hard work and...
Read moreThe Aphrodite Restaurant is a lovely family-owned restaurant serving traditional Greek cuisine and fish/seafood on the waterfront at Paloi. It is truly a family affair with the Matriarch of the family running the kitchen, a daughter as front of house, a son responsible for catching the fish and seafood and a nephew manning the grill. On successive nights recently we enjoyed beautifully cooked goat in red sauce, aubergine Imam, stuffed zucchini, fried calamari, mussels and salad. The quality and freshness of the ingredients, and the expertise and care of the cooks shines through in every delicious dish. The staff are all friendly, welcoming and professional which just adds to the pleasure of dining here. If you have the great good luck to find yourself in Paloi do yourself a favour and eat here. You won’t regret it. We will be...
