It’s clear that Lioniskari is a much loved and cared for villa by Maria’s family. The garden, especially is a true testimony of their input and care. Many fruit trees, olive trees and abundant flowering shrubs and plants fill this lovely garden. I loved walking through the garden each day. Maria and her family were super friendly & helpful and once came to drop off a spare key at night when ours were inadvertently locked inside the studio room. The bins were emptied out regularly and they provided us with clean towels and bedding regularly. We stayed in the 2 bedroom villa below the top villa which had 3 bedrooms. Ours was immaculately clean & stylishly furnished. The ocean views from the large balcony and pool deck are spectacular and spaces that we enjoyed hanging out in. However, the outside spaces are unfortunately not small child friendly, which meant that an adult had to always be assigned to watch the children and run after our 13 month old grandson. The bars in the railings are spaced far apart and not safe for kids, as small children can easily fit through and fall off over the balcony. A very high drop to the driveway which could very well result in death. There is also no gate to stop small kids from going to the pool. So, someone had to always be on duty to watch the kids. Maybe a temporary solution which could be erected when guests with small kids come to stay would be very much appreciated. The kitchen was well equipped with pots and pans, however the following items would really have improved our stay: A few more of the larger mugs. A large fruit bowl. There are 2 glass bowls which were used daily, so another large bowl for fruit would’ve been nice. A Nespresso machine to replace the cumbersome coffee machine. A large glass or ceramic microwaveable jug to warm milk in the microwave. Potato peeler for peeling potatoes. A few more teaspoons. A sugar bowl. Large tongs when doing outside barbecue. Complimentary mosquito burning rings as well as mosquito spray would’ve been appreciated. The ceramic/induction hob controlls were inconsistent and a huge frustration. They were not always responsive. No matter how hard or often i pressed, they would just not either respond to turn the temperature up or down or to switch the hob off. We were asked not to use the pool towels at the beaches, however, with overseas guests, who would not be traveling with towels, considering providing beach towels would be much appreciated too.
If these few suggestions/complaints could be seen to Lioniskari would definitely be a villa that we’d like to return to...
Read moreWe spent 10 wonderful days in this villa! Everything is at a very high level. Starting from the breathtaking view from the veranda and the pool and continuing with the wonderfully equipped villa with everything you need for a long vacation. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised by the preparation of the villa for the guests and the stocking of many essential products that we did not expect to find. The capacity of 6 people provides enough space and space for all guests. The host Maria is extremely responsive and helpful, and also responds extremely quickly when necessary! Thank you for the wonderful vacation! I write this comment with a little sadness that this may lead to the villa being taken for next year and for me to have no free dates left :). Maria, we all thank you for the...
Read moreWe stayed at Villa Lioniskari in early September and absolutely loved it. The location is perfect: just a five-minute walk to a small, quiet pebble beach with crystal-clear water (water shoes recommended), another five minutes to a shallow beach with easy access, and five more minutes to Mongonissi sandy beach with a great taverna. The villa itself is spacious, beautifully designed, and very comfortable. The large terrace offers breathtaking views, and the pool is spotless and inviting. Maria and her family are wonderful hosts – warm, welcoming, always available, and happy to help with anything. We truly hope to come...
