We recently had the pleasure of staying at Paxos Bay Studios and dining at the Mongonissi Beach restaurant, and I can’t recommend them highly enough!

First and foremost, the food at the restaurant is absolutely delicious. Every meal we had was flavorful and beautifully presented, making for a delightful dining experience. The staff was incredibly welcoming, ensuring that we felt right at home from the moment we arrived.

The Paxos Bay Studios were equally impressive. We were lucky enough to have a studio with a stunning sea view that took our breath away every morning. The accommodations were well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and I was particularly impressed with how clean everything was. It was clear that the team takes great pride in maintaining their property.

One of the best parts of our stay was the lovely sandy beach right at our doorstep. It was the perfect spot to relax, soak up the sun, and enjoy refreshing drinks and tasty snacks from the beach bar.

Maria was an absolute gem! She provided us with invaluable tips on where to rent a boat and the best places to explore around the island. Her local knowledge made our trip even more special, allowing us to discover hidden gems that we wouldn’t have found on our own.

Maria and her family run a beautiful restaurant with well-appointed and spotless studio apartments with private terraces (all with water views).

The food and lodging were high quality and very fairly priced-the portions are large too so I was glad to swim every day in the crystal clear waters of Mongonissi Beach.

We had the best fresh grilled fish of anywhere on the island that we tried and the lamb kleftiko cooked in parchment with vegetables, potatoes and a bit of local cheese, melted in your mouth. The service was very friendly and efficient both in the restaurant and directly on the beach. The Friday night Greek dancing was also a treat (and we could have watched Yaris dance all night). More of real Greek dancing and less of the tourist bumbling version would have been better for us but by the sounds of laughter and the contagious smiles, clearly everyone was having a great time.

When we left after 5 days, I felt like I was leaving a friend’s warm and loving home.

We had a truly wonderful experience dining at Mongonissi Restaurant in Paxos! The food was absolutely delicious, everything we tried was fresh and full of flavor. Our group enjoyed a variety of dishes including the classic Greek salad, prawns saganaki, chicken souvlaki, pizza, and a perfectly cooked salmon dish served with quinoa, which was a tasty and wholesome pairing. We ended the meal with a creamy, flavorful blueberry cheesecake, the perfect dessert.

One of the evenings we visited, there was live Greek dancing, which really added to the festive atmosphere. We all enjoyed the setting, relaxed, welcoming, and full of character.

If you’re sailing between islands, Mongonissi is also a convenient stop. They offer showers for €5, lasting about 3 to 4 minutes. The showers include hooks inside and a public sink nearby. Just note there’s no toilet or trash bins, so come prepared with what you need.
