Taxiarhis Hotel — Hotel in Municipality of Pineios

Third time at the Taxiarhis, so something has to be good. We arrived late, and decided to go grab a bite before going to the hotel, fearing we would find the restaurants closed if we arrived later. We asked the restaurant to call the hotel to advise, and the hotel's reply was 'take your time, enjoy your meal, we will wait for you as long as necessary'. Which very much sums up the owners' approach where the customer comes first.||||True to their word, we arrived at 1:00am, and we received a warm welcome and a very smooth and efficient check-in process ensured we were all in our rooms within 5 minutes. ||||Rooms may be a bit small, but have all the amenities you would need on a trip to Greece in the Summer - a good-sized shower, excellent air conditioning, and a fridge. Breakfast was a reasonably good affair for the class of hotel, though we missed some Greek breakfast staples like tomatoes, olives and feta, with the hotel taking a more traditional continental approach to breakfast. ||||On two days of our stay, we had to opt for a pre-packed breakfast, which was delivered fresh, well packed and reasonably abundant. ||||The hotel features an impressive swimming pool, with adequate outdoor seating and a beautifully maintained front garden, leading to moments of peace and tranquility. We stayed in July, despite arriving in the middle of the night the person working the night shift made us very welcome and couldn't do enough for us which was great. The owner and all the staff are very friendly nothing is too much trouble. On two mornings we were going out very early the owner arranged for a take away breakfast on both mornings which was so good and very helpful. The owner spent time with us advising us on places to sight see and referred us to a nice place to go to for our evening meal. The bedroom was a little small but suited our needs and had everything we needed and was clean, the fridge was a good size which was useful the air con was great and was quiet which was good when sleeping. The only slight issue was the pillows were very hard. This is a great hotel, clean, tidy, lovely breakfast, friendly and helpful staff especially the owner, nothing is too much trouble. Hopefully we will be visiting the same area in Greece next year and we would look forward to staying at the same...

This hotel was so convenient and accommodating. The owner greeted us at the front door with drinks and made check-in seamless. Our rooms were clean and comfortable with relaxing views from the balconies. We needed to leave for work earlier than breakfast started so the owner accommodated specifically to have breakfast open early for us. The breakfast was incredible and varied with local produce and fruits day to day. The beach is only a 10 minute drive and there are many excellent local food places within 2 minute drive.
