There are four spacious apartments, two ground floor, two first floor, all with sea and partial town view. The ground floor apartments have a large terrace furnished with table and chairs and sun loungers. One ground floor and one first floor apartment are slightly larger, with three beds in the bedroom, a sofa bed in the living area and a large bathroom. The bathrooms in the property are soon to be updated I understand, but were adequate. All are kept very clean and are well equipped. The grounds are well kept and pleasant. The owners live in a house behind the apartments and were very kind and helpful, arranging car hire (Kassimiotis car rental, they delivered and collected the car, 160 euros for four days, no problems with them) and arranged taxis for us to and from the airport. WiFi at the property was good.||||Opposite the apartments, across the road and down a steepish track Is a small narrow dark sand and pebble beach (Artaki) with an excellent taverna for lunch. There are a few sun loungers which are free, no umbrellas but shade from the tamarisk trees lining the beach. The sea was clean and shallow, good for swimming. ||||We were a bit disappointed with Zaga beach, at the end of the beach closest to Koroni, due to the large amount of seaweed at the shoreline. I think it was cleaner further along. It’s also quite a hike in the heat to get there and back. It’s worth going to Peroulia Beach, a beautiful sandy bay about a 10/15 minute drive from Koroni (12 euros by taxi) with comfortable loungers (6 euro for two plus umbrella), drinks and food service on the beach and a very good taverna. ||||Koroni itself is a quaint traditional little town, with a good selection of shops. Taxis are available day and night from the square and this is also where the bus departs for Kalamata. We found the people to be extremely friendly. The food we had was nothing out of the ordinary (we stayed here for two weeks and tried a different place each evening), a lot of grill rooms and all a bit samey, and absolutely everything seems to come served with chips...||||There are some decent bars along the seafront which open late and which got quite busy. Expect to pay 3 euros for a 500ml bottle of mythos, 7 euros for a cocktail and around 30 euros for a meal for two with drinks, unless you opt for the fish which is more expensive.||||I think Koroni is a great base in this area and I would highly recommend the...
Read moreThis was our first visit to Koroni and we were really happy that we chose it as a destination! Our stay at Pelagia Apartments was excellent. We arrived hot and tired from a long drive and Antony had prepared homemade lemonade - perfect! ||||We reserved a one bedroom apartment on the lower level. The building is situated on a hillside above the sea and the view is stunning. The terrace was a nice place to enjoy the sea breezes and have a light meal or drink before dinner. Lounge chairs are there for naps or sunbathing. The garden is beautiful with many varieties of flowers - the roses were especially beautiful and fragrant when we visited. |||| Parking is free and right in front of the property. We didn’t move the car once during our three night stay - it’s a short walk into Koroni.||||The apartment is nicely furnished and comfortable, the WiFi good, and the host was very kind. We’d recommend a stay at...
Read moreWe've just come back from an 11-night stay in one of Antonis' apartments. He is a marvellous host - friendly, helpful, efficient and a very warm welcome. His English speaking is very good which is helpful to us non-greek speakers... The apartment itself was everything we needed - lovely and spacious for two: modern, clean and nicely furnished, aircon and wifi were of of course much used! the spacious patio was a real bonus. We used Artaki beach - just over the road which also has a good restaurant and the apartments are so well situatied with that beautiful view and a short walk in to town which is full of restaurants and bustling life. We are definitely booking again as our stay provided us with a much needed rest and we had nothing to worry about, thanks to our super host! A big thank you until next time, from Kate and Michael...
