About the place: This is a beautifully restored villa located in a small, authentic mountain village. The house is based on an original village home but has been renovated to a very high standard, offering all the luxuries and comforts one could need. The villa consists of four independent units, each with its own private entrance, bathroom, small living area, and outdoor dining space facing the breathtaking mountain views. Each unit is different in size and décor, but all share the same stunning scenery.

In addition to the private units, there is a fully equipped shared kitchen and a dining area that can comfortably seat 10 people. The villa also features a wellness area with a jacuzzi and sauna, and a high-quality barbecue in the garden. In short – for anyone seeking luxury in an authentic village atmosphere, fresh mountain air, and peace and quiet – this is the perfect place. It's worth noting that reaching the beach requires about a 45-minute drive, and staying here does require having a car.

About the hosts, Giannis and Maria: We were forced to cancel our original arrival due to widespread flight cancellations in our area – after the free cancellation window had passed. Technically, we were supposed to pay the full amount according to Booking's policy, but Giannis and Maria graciously allowed us to postpone our arrival and enjoy the full vacation later on – a gesture that speaks volumes about who they are.

When we arrived, we found a fridge full of treats, wine, and other goodies. Throughout our stay, Giannis checked in daily to make sure we had everything we needed – always available, yet fully respectful of our privacy.

The villa is truly one-of-a-kind, offering all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. With five of us, it was incredibly spacious, providing plenty of room for everyone.

The pool, surrounded by breathtaking views of the hills, was amazing. Additionally, the hot tub and sauna were fantastic touches. The villa's architecture and interior design are commendable, reflecting meticulous attention to detail by the hosts.

The hosts were wonderful, friendly, and exceptionally hospitable, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived until the last seconds of our vacation. They provided great recommendations for nearby food spots and grocery stores, and they were always available to help with any queries. Sadly we have just left Villa Moundros after two fantastic weeks. The pictures are great but actually don’t do the place justice. Would thoroughly recommend! Maria & Giannis were fantastic hosts, welcoming us to the property and then being available whilst not intrusive. The property is well located for amenities and close to Rethymno and only an hour or so to Chania. The rooms are very well appointed with plenty of different locations to sit outside and enjoy the views! All in all a great...
