Mountain Vista Resort — Hotel in Municipality of Rethymnon

Situated right in the middle of Rethymno prefecture, Mountain Vista Resort is an absolute escape, 30 minutes drive from Rethymno city, 20 minutes from northern and southern beaches of the area. ||We stayed in a 2-room apartment for a week. The apartment was extra spacious for 2 persons; it can easily accommodate 4.||Inner decoration looks quite Cretan at first glance (traditional furniture, fireplace, etc.), yet it is rather luxurious: all walls are covered with high quality local white stone (marble-type) and the backyard balcony -a physical entrance to the surrounding forest, indeed- is all made of that marble (there is no sign of armed concrete, whatsoever).||All premises are covered by code-secured wifi (password provided within your room/apartment), while traditional local tastes can be found at very close range. While the property needs a bit of work on the garden, the pool, room and general facilities are very good. The staff are very keen to please and always offering complimentary drinks or grapes. The breakfast included everything we wanted, they offered to go and buy anything extra we wanted for breakfast which is 5 euro each.|The rooms are large and include stone and marble finishes. The shower is a little small it did not matter is the marble floor got a little wet. Bed is firm but we slept well. plenty of parking and space, and its very quiet. The room was convenient, well-equipped and most importantly, clean, even though I'm really observant in this matter. The breakfast was diverse and very tasty (+ delicious frappe), served in front of our apartment in the beautiful surroundings. A lot better experience than in a 4-star hotel in Chania the day before.

I appreciate the individual approach of the owner. She advised us what to visit during the day, and agreed to serve the breakfast earlier when we needed. We felt warmly welcomed, and definitely would be back if visited Crete again, as it was the best accommodation out of 3 during our trip...
